We booked a four day trip with Inghams and stayed in this hotel in May 2013. We had a side view room overlooking the car ferry on the third floor. When we were in our room we opened the full length window , but the double glazing was very good and you could hardly hear a thing from outside with the window closed. The rooms are very nice and a decent size. We picked this hotel for its central location, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants located around this small town. Bellagio has small, narrow cobbled streets and lots of stairs and therefore something to consider if you are not so steady on your feet. On a Saturday and Sunday the town is very busy but was very quiet midweek. A trip on the car ferry across the lake to Caddenabia is 9 euros return per person. This area and Tremmezzo run into one another and it is a nice stroll along the flower lined promenade with eateries and bars along the way. The Victoria Bar is worth a mention, it serves a nice British afternoon tea on the lake side and has newspapers to read. We visited various Villas and Gardens but my favourite has to be Villa Balbianello, not to be missed. Only attempt the walk up the hill to this Villa if you are fairly fit. A little taxi boat will take you round for 10 euros return per person. The fast boat to the town of Como from Bellagio costs 14 euros per person one way. The town of Como is also nice to visit, but don't visit on a Monday if you are looking to shop as most are closed on a Monday. The local bus to Como is 4 euros one way. Our favourite bar was Bar Rossi which is just outside the hotel at the passenger ferries. It is great for people watching, 9 euros for 2 medium beers, cocktails 5 euros each, compared to 12 euros for the beer in the hotel. The restaurant in the hotel cannot be beaten for its location, a little expensive, but guests get a 10% discount of meals. The hotel staff are all extremely friendly and efficient, but I feel a little background music would add to the atmosphere. I had longed to visit Lake Como for many years and I was not disappointed. It is very beautiful, the weather was great, and the locals very friendly.

Room Tip: Side view rooms also have good views.

Don't be fooled by the outside of this building, which in all honesty needs a coat of paint, especially the signage at the front. What awaits inside is a warm, friendly, professional hotel service, with very comfortable rooms, and a priceless view of Lake Como and the mountains that cradle this sumptuous location. We opted for a room with a lake view and balcony. For two reasons, I was glad we didn't go for a terrace room: 1. It rained for most of the three nights we were there, and so the terrace would have been wasted and, 2. The balcony rooms all look down onto the terraces, so no privacy down there! The check in and check out was the most thorough and professional I've ever encountered (right down to the reception clerk pulling out a miniature model of a room door to demonstrate how to use the room key "wand" to unlock your door). The room had all the amenities we wanted, including tea and coffee making facilities and an iron upon request (which can be a bit hit and miss in Italian hotels). The laneways of Bellagio are steep, but worth the walk to find little shops, bars and restaurants, and although this hotel is well located for the public ferry service, I don't see the need to venture to other towns, when you are staying somewhere as beautiful as Bellagio. Breakfast in the hotel was excellent, and we had lunch on one occasion in the "bar" when we felt like something light (the soup was terrific). The hotel offers a 10% discount to encourage dining within their restaurant, but we chose to try other places to eat to provide a fuller experience of Bellagio (I can thoroughly recommend Barchetta for a lun

Room Tip: I can recommend a lake view room with a balcony. The balcony is small but a perfect spot for a photo or a glass of wine.

If you are after a hotel with great views and close to the lake and the centre of Bellagio this is for you. We had a front corner room with spectacular views, even from the bathroom. Good size clean room with all the usual amenities and a mini bar fridge however you could hear a lot of noise from other rooms around and above. Breakfast selection was very good, hot and cold Buffett. Our only gripe was our room was left wide open, I assume by housekeeping staff after the room had been cleaned one day. A bit of a shock and could have been disastrous but luckily we were at the end of a corridor and nothing seems to be missing.

Room Tip: Ask for a front corner room, they cost more but are worth it

Just returned from Bellagio and had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Very nice rooms and almost all had at least a partial view that was extraordinary. Had a rooftop deck for relaxing that had a wonderful view. The restaurant is right on the water and this also was the breakfast area. Sensational views and good food and service. There was free Wi-Fi and a very professional front desk staff. Rooms were about 200 euro/night depending on size, # of people and views. Very centrally located and no lugging a suitcase up a narrow staircase. Right near the passenger ferry and good restaurants. All in all would highly recommend this hotel...a 3 start that acted like a 4 star hotel.

This hotel is right in the heart of this fairly small town. We got lucky with a parking spot out front, but it seems like a real challenge trying to find a spot otherwise. The elevator was small so we needed to make a couple of trips to get the bags upstairs to the room. The room itself was a nice size and exceeded expectations for a non-chain hotel. The staff was very helpful by suggesting we take the auto ferry to the other side of the lake for the wider roads off the lake.
