The part of this otherwise fine hotel that we stayed in was terrible! It was on the back side, directly above the main car and walking street. In addition it faced the night clubs across the street and the loud band noise continued to 11 or 11 thirty. Otherwise every thing else was good. The restaurant for breakfast was really special above the water with great views of the mountains. But the village was wall to wall tourist shops and tourists, many tourists. We liked Pallanza a quiet village on Lake Maggiore a lot better. There are fine gardens reachable from Bellagio, however, most notably for us was Villa Carlotta directly across the lake and reachable by frequent ferries.

Room Tip: Always get a lake view room or go somewhere else!!

Lake Como is spectacular, and this hotel is a great base to explore Bellagio and the mid lake area, or, if you have the time venture further afield. The hotel is well located right on the lake, near the ferry terminals, and a short walk from the local bus stop. The staff were welcoming and went out of their way to help us with our ongoing travel arrangements. The rooms are well appointed, ours had a small balcony to enjoy the lake view. The restaurant serves a lovely breakfast, and the staff were greeted us warmly every morning. On the only night we had dinner, we were a little disappointed with the somewhat ordinary meal and the slow service, but that may have been a one off. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Book a room with a full lake view - even if it costs a bit more, its definitely worth it!

Fabulous Hotel, The staff were great friendly and efficient right from the reception desk to the night porter, nothing was too much trouble. We had a room on the lakeside with a balcony, number 224,although not large it was big enough and with a view to die for everything worked and it was spotlessly clean, Although on Bed and Breakfast which was good, hot and cold huge choice we had dinner some nights perhaps the best fillet steak I have had for years. We did not find the noise from the ferries a problem and interesting to watch. All in all a great hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the lakeside are smaller but the view fantastic and quieter than the sides.

The view from our room almost made us unwilling to go outside. We were greater and welcomed for our two night stay as if we're royalty. The room and bath are spacious but the balcony view was the best ever.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a lake view and balcony.

This small, pleasant hotel is at the centre of the lakeside stretch, between the car ferry and passenger ferry terminals, so there's some early morning noise to contend with, especially on the lower floors. At the rear, there's a narrow roadway where vehicles slowly pass through the pedestrian traffic. There is a variety of souvenir and fashion shops at street level, mixed with cafes and restaurants associated with competing lakeside hotels. Directly opposite the hotel rear entrance a steep narrow cobbled shopping street packed with artisan and fashion boutiques and eating places rises up the hillside to a wider shopping street with light traffic squeezing past the pedestrians. Turn left to reach the church square.
The hotel restaurant menu (a la carte), cuisine and service are outstanding for luncheon and dinner and well worth the small extra cost. Weather permitting, there's a large dining terrace right on the edge of the lake. Buffet breakfast is served every morning from 07:15 and includes bacon, eggs and pancakes for those so inclined, as well as the usual continental breakfast items.
In all areas of the hotel, the staff are attentive, charming and helpful. Check-in is very efficient. Room keys are the "magic wand" type that you wave in front of the room door to unlock it. These "magic wand" keys are attached to heavy brass key fobs which prompt you to leave your key at reception every time you go out. Rooms are clean, comfortable, well appointed and appear to have been recently refurbished. corridors and public rooms are similarly well-maintained. Chambermaids are very thorough - it appears that they swept under the beds every day, and changed the linen frequently. Our room was on the top floor, lake side, with a small balcony, providing a superb view. All the lake-side balconies overlook the "private" terraces of the four large rooms on the first floor, which had room for chairs, tables, sun umbrellas and flower tubs.
There's a well-maintained roof garden with chairs, loungers, umbrellas and great views of the lake and mountains.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay at the centre of the lake system, with plenty of ferry links to wherever one wishes to explore, and an excellent terrace restaurant in which to enjoy dinner. I hope to go back there soon.

Room Tip: Lake side rooms are subject to some early morning noise from the ferries coming and going, so the hi...

I recently stayed in Bellagio for 4 nights towards the end of a 6 week Euro holiday. My reservation was made and confirmed via email through their website months in advance, with no complications. Check in/out was easy. I stayed in room 450 (too floor, facing lake) which had the most incredible, uninterrupted view across Lake Como. Such an amazing outlook to wake up to. The rooftop sun terrace was lovely and peaceful. Buffet breakfast was great. All staff were very friendly and enthusiastic to answer any questions, whether about local ferries or trains or tours. Fantastic location in the centre of Bellagio, only a couple of minutes walk to anywhere in town. I was having such a great time that I decided to stay and extra night, and apart from having to change rooms this was no problem. As a solo traveller I felt welcomed, and thoroughly enjoyed late nights watching the World Cup in the lobby with other guests! There was a mix in guest demographic, with young families and older couples and a few solo travelers. Thanks for a great stay! I will stay here next time I'm in Bellagio.

Our family of four stayed in a family room in June 2014. The room was spacious and comfortably furnished. Although our room was considered a "side" lake view, we had a great view of the lake and mountains in the distance and really enjoyed sitting on our balcony. The desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly, offering us the use of umbrellas, printing our train tickets, and arranging a very early breakfast for us on the day of our departure. Staff in the breakfast area was likewise friendly and helpful, among the best we encountered in Italy. We would definitely stay here again!
