“Walk away, now!”
Reviewed 5 October 2013

What were we thinking of? This was probably the worst "restaurant" we have ever sat down in. Other reviewers have covered the awful cold food, the handy microwave, the terrible drinks, the flies, etc.
The only time you might enjoy this place would be if you were totally off your face on drink or drugs.
The notice outside said "Since 1989" - have they really been peddling this tosh since then?

“Microwave-your-own meal!”
Reviewed 21 September 2013

We were attracted to the buffet because it was a chance to sample lots of different typical Italian dishes - the hoarding outside invited us to "Eat like the locals". It was a truly memorable experience...for the wrong reasons! We went in just after it opened for the evening, thinking everything would be fresh. Not so. Nothing had been replenished since lunch and there were a fair few flies around. The 2 bowls of pasta were half empty, the salads were sparse and limp, the bread not fresh, the cold meats were actually curling at the edges. There were a few things that looked like cheap breaded party food. Everything looked tired and it was cold, even the chips - you filled your plate then stuck it in a microwave yourself! Our drinks were brought before we actually saw the food or the microwave or we would have left. We had beer, which was fine, and white wine which was not. We noticed the couple beside us both had red wine which they did not drink at all.To be fair, there was nice fresh melon and the price is cheap. The couple beside us did what we did and had lots of melon and not a lot else! We could have had a simple pizza or pasta and a drink elsewhere for a similar amount, so we felt we had made a very poor choice.

“Consider the price”
Reviewed 18 September 2013

So the price is a great deal at €10 for 2 trips to the Buffett and a drink. Thinkof it this way: a drink and an appetizer and it is still a great deal. The items on the Buffett seemed repetitive but they did have fresh fruit, breads, salads, meats' etc. nothing bad, just not that great. Have some bruschetta, your drink, some fruit and for the price you can't go wrong. Just don't think you are going to have a great meal. And yes, the decor is very unique but you can eat outside at a table if you'd rather look at a quaint, narrow, cobbled lane and watch aspeople walk by.

“Bizarre place promises more than it delivers”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

The Divine Comedy lunchtime buffet looked good on the face of it. Ten Euros for two plates of food from the buffet and a drink, perfect! We were shown to the upstairs room, a psychedelic trip of a room with leering cherubs painted all over the walls and blue leather and gold seating. More suited to a bacchanalian orgy then lunch with the family! We were served our drinks - watered down flat coke for all of us and then told to help ourselves at the buffet. What appeared to be a lot of choice initially soon reduced in options as a lot of it was similar or the same. Bizarrely you even had a bowl of chips to pick from and a microwave to heat them up as they were cold! A lot of the food was being regularly visited by flies coming in off the street and you began to wonder how long the cooked meats and salami had sat on the counter in front of you. The fruit was fresh though so we ate more of that than we might at a normal meal and a it was 36 degrees outside, we had small appetites that day thankfully. Two plates of largely melon segments later and we paid and left and lived to tell the tale....which is probably the best outcome we could have hoped for at the end of the experience. On paying my 30 Euros, I asked for some change for a 5 euro note. I received it all in 10s and 20 cent pieces despite a till drawer full of Euro pieces. On counting it out the proprietor through the last 70 cents into my palm and said "five euros". Amazed at being short changed for the sake of 30 cents I decided discretion was the better part of valour and left. Bizarre place, odd staff, watered down drinks and the promise of a feast it fails to deliver.

“Not a good deal”
Reviewed 10 August 2013 via mobile

€10 for a maximum of two plates food that you can take. No WiFi isn't the main weak point. Don't even supply TAP WATER for customer, doesn't refill the food after finished. Food was just okay..
