“Tight quarters but clean and very centrally located”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2011

The rooms were too small for a couple with two backpacks. This unfortunately, makes more than a couple of nights uncomfortable and the beds caertainly don't help (think Flinstones). But the rooms was spotless. Breakfast was simple but satisfactory.

It's family-run and couldn't be more perfectly situated among the shops and restaurants on the beautiful hillside village of Bellagio.

Very friendly service. Perfect for backpackers or young travelers. Pretty typical Italian faacade and courtyard. 1 minute walking distance from ferry, main road and most of the fun things...

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better the view.

Hotel Centrale is a hidden gem. Giacomo is a gem too! The hotel is located midway up the streets of Bellagio, which means that you will have to climb a number of steps to reach the hotel. Although I had 2 big luggages, I left the bigger luggage in Milan at my hotel before proceeding on to Como. The hotel is lovely and quaint. Everything was clean and too bad the flowers were not in bloom, otherwise, the little garden would have been beautiful. I loved the skylight in our room on the 2nd floor. Internet connection was very fast (no complaints there). There are no views of the lake from any of the rooms but rest assured, you are only a few steps away from the breathtaking scenery. There are ample restaurants nearby. Breakfast is served in the dining room and we thought it was adequate for our needs. Did not regret booking this place and and would definitely recommend it..

The hotel and staff exceeded our expectations. Clean. Cozy. Close to everything. "Continental" breakfast was substantial with several choices. Assistance with restaurant reservations, directions, boat schedules and things to see and do was excellent. Prices were fair. A short walk (up the stairs) from the boat dock. I would definitely stay there again.

We had a lovely stay at this small Hotel. The owner and his son were very welcoming and friendly speaking excellent English. They were very helpful about suggesting things to do and places to stay. It was quite close to the lake front with a lovely garden courtyard. The room was clean and comfortable and we thought a very nice value.

İn the heart of Bellagio, very centrally located, like it's name suggests :)

free WiFi and a computer for guest use

Pretty front garden with orange trees in it :)

Nicely decorated, clean, comfortable, renovated rooms. Ours even had a little view of the lake! :) even if you are a person who is used to 4 star hotels, you will still be happy here. rooms are great.

Perfectly adequate buffer breakfast

Excellent value for money. however, I wished I booked this hotel from the internet, because we payed more than what the internet deals offer as walk in guests.

The best thing about this hotel - Their wonderful straff who greet and treat you in most welcoming manners with a warm smile.

This hotel was in the perfect location and was quaint/charming at the same time. The father/son duo that runs the hotel couldn't be more friendly! The rooms were lovely and the breakfasts were always wonderful. Again, location location location!

We stayed at Hotel Centrale for 3 nights in mid-September. The hotel is in a fun location, right in the middle of Salita Plinio (just take the large staircase just past Hotel duLac). We stayed in room 106 which was a small double (110 Euro/night, about $150). We opted for the smaller room to save money, and weren't disappointed. The bed was comfortable and the room was serviced every day. The bathroom was very small and there was only a few shelves within the small wardrobe to unpack but I'm sure the larger rooms don't have this problem. One thing we didn't care for was the fact that our windows were right along the main walkway into the hotel. Although the hotel has a quaint courtyard separating it from Salito Plinio, we couldn't help but feel concious that other guests might see into our room (or worse yet bathroom) as they passed by to enter the lobby. We enjoyed our stay and Hotel Centrale met our needs. We had to leave very early on our last day so Giacomo dropped off a nice tray with breakfast and a kettle so we could eat before leaving. If you're in Bellagio, be sure to have dinner at the Tratorrio San Giacomo (recommended to us by the hotel). Food is delicious and service is great. I'd recommend making a reservation though, they fill up fast.
