We had a wonderful 4 nite stay stay at Hotel Centrale. After the somewhat impersonal hotel in Rome, Hotel Centrale was very welcoming and relaxing. The Borelli family, Marcello, his Dad, and brother are gracious, friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was fresh and they make lovely cappuccino. We had Room 102 I believe- spacious for Europe- plenty of room for luggage. The cleaning women do a fantastic job and everything was spotless. It is not a 5 star fancy hotel, but it's comfortable(including bed), quiet, central, and very home like.
They do not claim a lake view. However, there was a roof patio (seen in pictures) off our room which did offer a pretty slice of the lake. I sat out in the mornings and watched all the fresh bread and produce be delivered to the adjacent restaurants, and the street come to life. As you spend all your time out and about on the lake, we certainly did not miss having it out the window.
For all these reasons Hotel Centrale was a fantastic value and we couldn't have asked for a friendlier, more welcoming, place. We thoroughly enjoyed Bellagio and the pace of Lake Como and would definitely return to Hotel Centrale.
Grazie to the Borelli Family

Great little hotel with friendly approachable people. Larger than average room for a European hotel with internet and a great breakfast. Also had a neat little balcony and outdoor lounge area. The family who run it could not be more accommodating. It's nestled on a little side street but close to everything. An easy walk from the ferry.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were very pleased with the accommodation, location and the friendliness of everyone. The room was large and clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were friendly and efficient. Marcello in particular stood out, with thanks. Our departure was early and he provided a breakfast for us without our asking.
We defintely recommond Hotel Centrale. Glad we stayed in Bellagio for 3 nights.

This really is a great hotel. Great location, clean and friendly.

Do not expect a 5* dulux hotel as this is far more a small, traditional Italian family owned and run hotel with plenty of character and old charm.

The rooms are adequatley spacious and very clean with a decent bathroom. Breakfast is a decent enough continental affair.

The service however is fantastic. We had an early flight home but they left us a kettle, some food and juice the night before. The guys where very pleasant to talk to and nothing was to much effort for them.

My one slight negative was they dont have a bar here but they let you bring in your own drinks (shop just around the corner) and sit on the terrace or in the garden.

Bellagio, in my opinion, is the nicest place on Lake Como. Plenty of decent places to eat and drink with the boat being on your door step, small and quaint.

Free parking is an issue but so just ended up paying about 15euros a day to stay in the carpark.

I would totally recommend this hotel and Bellagio... although dont expect a lie-in as the church bell chymes form 7am!

In early September 2011 we spent 6 nights in this Hotel. It is well situated and appears to have been renovated recently, which has been done to a high standard. Everywhere was kept spotlessly clean. It is family run for several generations, and service was always very good and very friendly. A good breakfast was served each day in their spacious breakfast room at the side of their shady garden. Access with luggage is slightly awkward, but was made very easy for us, because our taxi driver insisted on carrying our case up for us, and on departure a son of the family insisted on carrying our luggage down. We would stay there again and can confidently recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a well run comfortable family run hotel.

Room Tip: Book directly with the Hotel. The family members on reception speak vey good english.

we stayed 2 nights at the end of August 2011 and paid 110 Euro per night.
the room we got was pretty medium. relatively small, basic facilities, poor shower (the douche was broken).
we asked to change the room after 1 night and got a better room at the loft.
breakfast was very basic though quite good coffee.
hotel location is right in the center of Bellagio, though I assume all other hotels enjoy the same lacation due to the fact the Bellagio is a very small village, i.e. no matter where you stay in the city, you can't be far from the center.
parking- there is no dedicated parking lot, but we didn't have much problem to find one, thanks to the staff guidance.
the hotel is run by the owner and his 2 suns- all of them are extremely courteous and hospitable.
overall it's a medium hotel, a bit overpriced but it's very friendly staff a bit compensate for it's disadvantages.

Doesn't get much better than this for the price. Nice rooms, with small bathrooms. Signior Borrelli and his sons are perfect hosts! Very good breakfasts. Only weaknesses are that it isn't on the waterfront (no big deal because it is very close) and the wifi signal is weak -- use your iPad on the first floor or use the guest computer.
