Rick Steves' Italy guide recommended this hotel, and we are so glad we chose it. Although the climb up many, many stone stairs to get there is a challenge, it is well worth it when you arrive. The owner is such a charming, fun, informative person, the perfect sort to own a hotel. The rooms were spacious (we had two rooms for our party of three), with nice-sized bathrooms. Breakfast was extremely good: great croissants, fresh-cut fruit, another bowl of whole fruits, juices, ham and cheese, cereals, yogurts (nice and cold!), good coffee, and a specialty coffee cake or bread each morning. We stayed for four nights and wish we were still there! The best part about our stay was our use each evening of the spacious patio/garden area, where we had drinks (Aperol spritzes, Prosecco) each evening prior to dinner. One night we had Limoncello after dinner there. There are kumquat and lemon trees in the garden, too! Even though the hotel advertises that they have no lake view, each of our rooms did have a sliver of a wonderful lake view. And, when we left, the nice young man at the desk insisted that he carry our 50 pound (each) suitcases all the way down all those stone steps! Great service!

We stayed for a week, and this is the best little hotel we have stayed at in Bellagio (and we've tried a few over the years). It has all the pro's of a small hotel, with comfortable rooms, helpful staff and a cosiness that is always lacking in bigger hotels. It was surprisingly quiet, given it's bang in the centre of town. We made good use of the balcony for the mandatory pre-dinner drinks and wifi updates. Owners were happy to store out bikes safely within the main building; ideal location for riding around the lake or up to the Madonna di Ghisallo. Watch out for local traffic/parking restrictions in the town centre, as we got caught by a hidden camera!

Room Tip: The hotel has 3 levels. The higher you go, the quieter it gets.

My wife and I stayed here for the first 4 days of our honeymoon, and we couldn't have been happier.

The rooms are small, but perfectly formed. The character of the rooms, with their wooden beams etc, are in keeping with the feel of Bellagio; and if you are lucky to have a room on the top floor then the electronic skylight is great!

The staff are super friendly and courteous.

Definitely worth a stay.

My two adult daughters & I stayed here for 3 nights the first of May, 2012 and truly enjoyed our stay. Mr. Giacomo Borelli & his two sons Marcello & Michele were extremely helpful with luggage and information on places to visit, plus where to eat. They all speak English well. Our rooms were immaculate and good size with a Dresser to put essentials in and a small table with 2 chairs. The bathrooms were very clean and of good size. I loved their glassed in -large- breakfast room. Breakfast was very ample and I cannot say enough good things about the hotel. It is a great central location with some steps up to the main shopping areas. We truly enjoyed our stay and would defintely stay here again. The hotel has 18 rooms and It is 3 stories and does have an elevator so that is another definite plus. A dedicated family run hotel.

Attractive family-run hotel one block back from the lake. Room was clean and comfortable, good breakfast, and the two younger men (the owner's sons?) were both very helpful and informative. We expected car parking to be more difficult here than anywhere else in the lakes, and so it was. We left most of our baggage overnight in the car in free parking on the edge of town and carried just the basics and the valuables down to the hotel (we saw many other visitors trying to get their cars down the narrow cobbled streets to the hotels then find adjacent parking, and it didn't look like fun). Hotel Centrale is good value in a beautiful but expensive town.
