“Charming b&b overlooking Bellagio and Lake Como”
Reviewed 18 August 2013

This is a real gem; situated on the hills overlooking Bellagio, the view up Lake Como is spectacular. The rooms are rustic, but are very well maintained, and the view looking out past the wooden shutters seems even more incredible. Coupled with the wonderful hospitality, a stay here is highly recommended.

Nobody is perfect and yes, the Internet access is not always great here, our (standard) room, shower & bed were tiny, and the toilet flush did not work properly - but you will forget all of these minor deficits as soon as you have stepped outside into the backyard and onto the most magnificent terrace. The panorama is breathtaking and addictive, and best enjoyed with a view (inexpensive) cold ones served by always friendly and welcoming staff. We will be back:o)

Dear, I use not to response on positive reviews, but this time I really have to....
First of all thanking you for this nice review... all you say is true and I do hope it will help everyone to decide to come and visit us...
I wanted to respond your review to make a little advise about these minor deficits..... since they are all inconvenient that we could quickly fix, advise reception please when something is wrong or not perfectly working.... we will surely do our best to quickly solve the problem to let you feel more comfortable...
It is always better for us to know as soon, if something is not "perfect" rather than recieve a complain on departure desk as it happened a few days ago: we are not perfect we know, and sometimes, especially during the very high season, some small things are not noticed by the staff and this may cause those little minor deficits: we are very sorry about and if we can we really try to solve soon...so please help us....

Anyway thanks again for this wonderful review and opportunity to communicate with you...
Looking forward to welcome you back here as soon

Carlo

We stayed in the Il Perlo during our visit to Lake Como in June. The hotel is a 10 minute uphill drive from the center of Bellagio. On a good, not so hot day, it would make a nice walk to the town center.

The hotel itself is perched high above the lake itself, so that you can have a view of the lake from pretty muvh everywhere - from the rooms and from the garden, from the outdoor terrace. The breakfast and dinner at the hotel was one of the most memorable ones - time kind of stood still as we took in the culinary delights of authentic homemade Italian food with the visual delight of looking over one of the most scenic views of the lake itself. Not an early bird myself, but I made it a point to get up early enough to see the majestic sunrise and then enjoy a long evening with an equally beautiful sunset.

This is a perfect place to relax! The staff are very friendly, the rooms are large, airy, and very comfortable. The staff is super nice, friendly, and hospitable. We were very well looked after.

We would definitely stay there again when we visit Bellagio - definitely recommended.

Room Tip: The rooms next to the outdoor terrace are the best

Il Perlo is a beautiful small hotel situated above Bellagio. The views alone would justify the very reasonable prices. Rooms were clean, airy and comfortable, but definitely worth paying a little extra to wake up and see the view across the lake. Staff were fantastic, lovely breakfast on the terrace. Bellagio centre is 5-10 minutes by car - hotel provides a shuttle or there are plenty of taxis and the hotel can provide a list of restaurants that provide free transport. Overall a memorable stay

Room Tip: Room 25 is situated below the terrace and offers great views, alternatively rooms in the main buildi...

My wife, Julie, and I visited Il Perlo with our friends Chris and Diane Middleton for 3 nights from 29 July 2013 and had a wonderful stay. I booked the hotel having researched it on Trip Advisor, and we were not disappointed.

We requested Lake view rooms and were given rooms 16 and 3 on the first floor, which had a large shared terrace, and glorious views over Bellagio, Lake Como and the mountains beyond. The rooms are not large and could be described as "basic", but do not be put off by that, as they are excellent for a short trip, and clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was more than adequate too. Probably the only negative we could mention was the animal noises (cockerels and dogs) and some noise into the early hours from a small number of guests. Thank you so much to Carlo and his mother for making our stay so enjoyable - nothing was too much trouble for them. The shuttle service down into Bellagio was good and a taxi back was only 10 Euros for the 4 of us.

One day, we took the slow boat trip to Como which, at 2.5 hours, was a little longer than expected but we grabbed front seats and relaxed in the sunshine while the boat visited many of the little villages along the way. We spent a leisurely hour or so in Como before returning on the fast boat to Bellagio which only took about 40 minutes.

We visited several bars in Bellagio and were welcomed in all of them. Bellagio has the feel of St Tropez without the hustle and bustle and definitely without all the posers. So much, much better in our opinion.

So, overall, we had a great, short trip and Julie and I would love to return to Bellagio again in the near future - and most certainly would consider Il Perlo again.

Thank you to Il Perlo Panorama for helping make our stay so memorable.

We can highly reccomend this hotel with a stunning view. We had a big clean room that was pleasantly cold even when it was really hot outside. The staff are very friendly and service minded. The hotels own driver became my hero because of his safe and plesant driving, best I ever had in Italy.

The hotel is located about 3 km from Bellagio town center. Don't let that stop you. The taxis stop right outside where the boats arrive and the hotel has it's own shuttle car.

This hotel that specialises for cyclists has one of the best views over the lake and Bellagio. We chose to walk and explore instead of catching the transport and discovered little towns and villages closeby and would recommend this to the avid walker. Bellagio is a place you fall in love with the longer you stay as the locals welcome you into their space and treat you as a local. The owners and staff at il Perlo Panorama will go out of their way if asked for anything but I thought they could offer a kettle as a standard in the room and as on improvement to the property I thought a rim flow pool overlooking the current deck that has a view over the lake would add an element of magic and a welcome cooling off spot for the quite humid temperatures we experienced although the air conditioning was all in perfect working condition.

Room Tip: A slight walk to town if you cannot fit into their traveling schedule but walking and exploring was...
