The owners were so helpful and attentive to our every need. The view from our rooms was stunning. Take advantage of the shuttle to town or walk to San Giovanni to the ferry. Wish we would have stayed longer. Trying to find a way to get back some day.

Having returned home a week or so ago I noticed that what looks suspiciously like the view from the terrace of Il Perlo Panarama - or somewhere just a few feet away - has found its way onto the front cover of company offering packaged holidays across the lake in Menaggio ! This is very flattering if not strictly kosher. Back in the real Hotel Il Perlo Panorama the views of Lake Como are truly extraordinary and well worth the steep drive up the hill. As you survey the vista in the early dawn light, it's all too easy to feel like some Roman senator of 2000 years ago.
That said however the hotel is also popular with tourists and cyclists - we were told many of them come to the area to train on hill climbs for which much sympathy. However; if you seek a simple unpretentious family owned and run hotel where nothing is too much trouble for the staff, this is the one. Low cost car transfers from the hotel down to the Bellagio quayside run three times a day and can usually be arranged at other times for just a couple of euros per passenger. The hotel puts on what it calls a basic menu evening meal and taken out on the terrace at night this is excellent value for money. The rooms are clean and tidy with oodles of space. We'd certainly go back anytime - for having now visited all three of the major Italian lakes, Como and its villas and gardens are by far the most accessible.

Room Tip: So far as we could see all the rooms are about the same standard - but it's worth paying a littl...

My partner and I had a wonderful three night stay here in July. We knew the views would be good but nothing can prepare you for that breathtaking sight when you get up in the morning of lake como stretching out along both sides of bellagio and the mountains in the background. The staff were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Breakfast was good. The rooms were comfortable. I cannot fault this hotel. We had a car and were able to drive into town or wherever we wanted to go. In fact one day we hired scooters and toured the lake on two wheels - such fun! Bellagio is full of authentic trattoria and pizzeria. We enjoyed wandering the streets of an evening while we chose our eating venue for the night. Would whole-heartedly recommend.

We stayed here for 1 night only, my husband wanted to have a bike ride and they arranged this with a young rider (all unplanned before). The staff/owners are extremely friendly, the hotel restaurant is great and the views are truely amazing.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in during our mini tour of Europe.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view would be better, we had room 5 which had a lovely view of the lake and on the seco...

The view from our balcony was fantastic! The atmosphere is very casual, with great food, service and views. The staff was very accommodating with rides to and from town, however we did walk back from town once. The walk was about 20 minutes uphill. The food was very good, so we ate breakfast and dinners at the hotel all three days, visiting with other residents and exchanging daily tips on what to see and where to go.

Room Tip: The suites with a balcony view were fantastic.

Thanks a lot for your comment!! It looks like we were perfect but of course we are not...
It is nice to see that when someone who chooses us understands the feeling we would like to transmit and gets part of it: Homie hospitality in a small family managed hotel... where everybody is happy to welcome happy people...

We stayed here for 5 nights and booking II Perlo was the best decision we made for our stay in Bellagio.
Peira who owns and runs the hotel with her son Carlo are so helpful and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble, whether it was advice on cycling tours, looking after our washing, booking restaurants or transfers to Bellagio.
The hotel is located about 3km up the hill behind Bellagio and has commanding views of the town and Lake-just a brilliant spot which is enhanced by a large backyard partly covered by a trellis where the guests can kick back and enjoy the view over a drink. The rooms all have access to a large common balcony, the ones at the hotel front view the mountains and those at the back the Lake.
We ate at the restaurant twice and they prepare delightful, simple food that is very well cooked.
And all at a very reasonable price, particularly in Bellagio in peak season!
If you don't have a car, Carlo can do transfers to Bellagio, although we often chose to walk down to town via some of the trails that wind their way through a mixture of bush and farmyards-it rakes about 30 minutes to walk down, and a bit longer to walk back-but only 4 minutes by car

Room Tip: The rooms at the hotel front ( mountain view) can be a bit noisy on a Saturday morning as the motor...

This is a lovely hotel up on the hill overlooking Bellagio. We had the best view of Lake Como from our room, in fact from our bed. The staff are also amazing, it was my boyfriends 40th Birthday and they really went that extra mile for us. They were also extremely accommodating arranging the many transfers we needed back and forth from the hotel to town.
