Well ... I guess part of my disappointment is that I ate at Alle Darsene di Loppia the night before ... and this place just isn't in the same league. The prices are the same, but the cooking just doesn't cut it. They failed to achieve balance on every course except my son's veal, which was good. Everything else was either too sweet, or too salty or too sour, or, in the case of the fillet of fish with cheese and citrus crumb, just overcooked into a state of dryness. Someone in the kitchen had spilled the salt cellar into the accompanying zucchini. Inexplicably, they served the foie gras with a brioche so crumbly it fell apart before you could load anything on it and so many overly sweet accompaniments, they could have caused a sugar coma had I been so unwise as to eat them. The wine they served with this dish was beautiful and is the sole reason I've given them 3 instead of 2. Don't get talked into ordering the Prosecco.
