“NEEDS SOME TLC & UPDATING”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

Stayed July 2014- Found the Hotel eventually. Difficult to find unless you use a Sat Nav & tap in co-ordinates. Underground car park very tight to park & smells. Room was very tired & needed decorating & a new carpet. But bed comfortable & well laundered sheets- bathroom clean but shower small & curtained & the floor was not non-slip. Noisy in morning as near road. Situated in a grotty area...........Busy roads & Staff a bit miserable as Language barrier. Not up to UK Standard. Didn't bother with breakfast. The hotel was a bit of a disappointment, it all looked rather tired and jaded. The room was dated and we could find nothing English on the television. The breakfast was minimal and uninspiring.
On the plus side, we did get parking in the hotel car park, and the room had huge door-size windows which provided a welcome breeze in the heat - although I don't think I'd have attempted to lean on the railings.

We booked this hotel in the last few days and knowing what to expect from reading other reviews we still made our minds and decided to go ahead with the booking.

the hotel it self is equipped with all the facilities and rooms are a bit outdated but still I found it very spacious and clean, another thing that I noted was that it was much different during the day than at night. it must be the lighting being not the standard spotlights like many other newer hotels.

overall it is OK for just a one night stay. the en suite toilets were super clean and everything functional.

Room Tip: the top floors (the hotel has only two floors) have good views and check if the air conditioning is...

I am used to staying in budget hotels, expect basic but not this. Falling apart inside and out. In process of rebuilding reception when we stayed, shame they didn't start with the customer rooms (at least, the one we had). I would say it was 1960s and doesn't appear to have had any decoration or maintenance since. Scruffy, tatty, dirty, equipment broken and hanging off walls. It had air conditioning (!) but only worked a little and was leaking water all the time. Hence water stains on ceiling and walls and crumbling plaster. Management had left towels on the floor to soak up the water...really! Woken by rapid increase in dripping, had to empty waste bins to use as buckets as floor staturated! Location dreadful. on a very busy and horrendously noisy main road junction coming into Como. Best thing was not the hotel but being in walking distance of brilliant nearby restaurant Il Birrificio (see my other review) Better to stay somewher else and get a taxi!

Room Tip: Pay more, elsewhere

At a guess this place was built in the 1970's and nothing seems to have changed since as far as the décor goes. Best point is that you can park right outside if you get one of their allocated spots. And they're very generous with the shampoo - there would have been 10 bottles in the bathroom. If you need a bed for the night this provides it with the usual facilities but has no charm at all. Our room was adequately clean and quiet but the corridors and most public areas stank of cigarette smoke despite stickers on the hotel's front door proclaiming it's smoke-free status - maybe an aftereffect of it's pre-non-smoking days. Rating is given in light of the cost.

Room Tip: It's on a fairly busy road so at the back would probably be better

The hotel looks like a time machine. It is old with lack of maintenance, the room that we got was quite large with a balcony to the street, which is a good thing. The thing is that in general it gives the feeling that the hotel is abandoned, the corridors and common areas are dirty, the rugs on the hallways are worn out and dont give the best impression. The cleanliness of the room is ok, good bed. The bathroom is ok as well.

The distance to the center is 1km, there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. The parking was adequate at the time I stayed there, probably since it was winter not many guests. The reservation also includes breakfast, not to shabby, but enough to get going.

Room Tip: Choose a room with balcony to the street, they have a decent view and they have double closing to is...

This was a very dodgy place, and we were lucky to stay there only for a sleepover.

The room was smelly, the cleanness bad, the toilet looked like a 100 years old and not renovated place. The breakfast was very basic, i think the highlight of the stay.

If I were to stay there for a longer period, i would certainly choose something else.
