I'm not sure what's so special about the place. It was more like your run of the mill motel room. Clean but very plain and not deserving of the reviews I read that led me to stay there for one night. Yes nice view but not much else.

We enjoyed a one night stay at this auberge that heas some motel type units that accept pets. The view was wonderful and the dining room excellent, both for dinner and breakfast. A delightful break and it is appreciated that our dog was welcome.

They call themselves a Gastronomic guesthouse, and their food is amazing - a fantastic combination of flavours plus artistic flare. The location is beautiful, close up to the seaway, and route vert bicycle trail. Make sure you take time to walk along the seaway when the tide is out.

Room Tip: the 2nd floor of the motel will be the best balcony view.

I spent 3 nights here and never slept better. I have no idea why, but I'm glad of it! The dinners were very good and the dining room overlooking the river in very charming. I did not have time to investigate the spa, but it was obvious that plenty of folks at the auberge were taking advantage of it.
Don't miss this one, it is a delight.

The location is superb. The main lodge is heritage listed and is in absolutely incredible nick. A joy!

The people are lovely and the restaurant is fantastic. Had a gourmet dinner there the night of our arrival and breakfast the next morning was the best of our entire 4 week trip! The restarant hangs out over the St Lawrence.

The upstairs room was a bit ordinary and my wife slipped and hurt herself in the bathroom. We could have made a big stink about it but have chosen not to.

Room Tip: Ask for a vew of the St Lawence. River

Where we had wanted to stay in Riviere du Loupe was booked so we got off the highway and meandered along the river. This auberge looked nice and the people were very friendly. They had what appeared to be a very good all inclusive dinner, room and breakfast. We took it but we thought a room in the big old auberge would be nicer than one in the motel style row that was attached. Uh uh. Paper thin ,walls and hollow floors. Nevertheless, thinking of stopping again on our return west. The meal was magnifique, the wife can still taste the lobster ravioli starter days later, the wine list was excellent although too much emphasis on France and the staff were as good as you will find anywhere. Breakfast was almost the equal to dinner.

This is a beautiful B&B-style hotel right on the St-Lawrence River (near Rivière-du-Loup, QC). Gorgeous first floor and amazing view/site. Downside: the rooms aren't at all as nice as the first floor (where you could sit to read a book or relax) as they lack the charm. The rooms are more like regular ones (not B&Bs) in a large hotel and haven't been updated in a while but what they lack in charm, they gain in space and functionality. Anyways, if you want to be able to see the sun set or be directly on the River, this is a great spot, at 76-106$/night. There is also a restaurant at reasonable price but haven't tried it. Other then the "lodge" itself, there are convenient motel rooms with kitchenettes and outside seating directly on the water.

Room Tip: Get the motel room with view for a little extra
