Spectacular from the boat tour 6euro for groups! Too bad they do not have a diving area offshore on the lake. Interesting buildings and streets. I wish to had more time to spend.

Thank Robert E

Its fantastic that the only way to enter the town of Sirmione is to cross the drawbridge of this 12th century castle. Its worth the climb up the stairs to see the amazing views of the town, harbour and lake from the ramparts and the towers.

Warning: The toilets are just a whole in the ground!

Take a look at your tourist guide book to see the impressive burial site of the Scaligeri family in Verona. They had more castles/forts that McDonalds has restaurants in Veneto. This one is spectacular, but as some reviewers have mentioned, not as much historical documentation as you might like, though there was some in English. If you want a spectacular view of Lake Garda, this is the place, if you have the stomach for it. A place for a Kodak moment (remember that?). Old dudes and children are free. Wow, moats, drawbridges, and traps set for marine invaders. What fun!

This attraction is the first thing you notice when you arrive at Sirmione as it is a huge castle like structure and dominates the town. My husband got in for free as he is over 65 and it cost me 4 Euros. You can climb all the way to the top of the tower which affords excellent views over the town and the lake itself. Very busy the day we went there but well worth the effort to go.

4 Euros to get in. Not much about the history of the place on display, but walking around the battlements and up the tower is well worth the effort for those with a head for heights. Must have been nearly 200 steps up that very top, but well worth it. Great views.
