A very traditional hotel overlooking the lake (lake view rooms are at an extra cost). Ferry terminal for the boats is opposite the hotel so in a great postion for exploring the lake.
Behind the hotel there is a warren of streets with a great selection of interesting shops and restaurants.
The decor of the hotel is very traditional with a lot of wood used. This however makes the bedrooms a little dark and old f fashioned.
The problem I have with the restuarant , is if you choose from the "al a carte menu "you get no choice of vegetables which are over cooked and not always suitable for the menu chosen. The chef has a "one size fits all" policy when it comes to the vegetable selection on full board, half board or al la carte dinning.
All of the staff we met were very helpful and friendly.More
