Stayed for one night at the Crowne Plaza Milan City.

The hotel is situated next door to Sondrio Metro station which is one stop on the Yellow metro line from Centrale Station, direction Maciachini.

Check-in was smooth, and we were given an upgrade to a superior room. The room was spacious and quite swish, with all the frills including flat screen TV, tea and coffee facilities, minibar, slippers and bathrobes. There was an orange theme in the room, probably orange overload but still quite appealing

The bathroom was large with a powerful shower and plenty of toiletries.

The breakfast was well presented with good selection of fruit, cold meats, pastries, bread and a small selection of hot food.

A very good hotel and convenient to Centrale Station and to the city via the metro. Will stay again.

My family and I (with a kid) arrived at the hotel with 7 pieces of luggage. The male receptionist saw us struggling with the luggage and he stood there observing us. Then the bellman appeared and stood at the corner of the reception counter liked a statue and did not offered to place our luggage on the luggage trolley. My hubby had to voice out our need then help was rendered by the unmotivated bellman. Upon check in, the reception staff, Sarah treated us in a cold and unfriendly manner. I was in a pang of dissapointment by the service rendered by Sarah. When asked for direction to get to the Serravalle shopping outlet, she simply gave a short reply by telling us to drive there or hire a taxi then turned her head away. I was pissed off with her attitude but fortunately her male colleague approached us and told us that we could actually joined the shopping tour to Serravalle and told us to book for the tour. Well, as a Gold Priority club member, I will not recommend any of my business associates as well as friends to stay in the hotel though the hotel is new and room appeared perfect . I always believe that great customer support adds value to business but Crowne Plaza Milan City staff are doing the reverse.

  • Liked — The room and bathrom
  • Disliked — The bad customer service rendered by the staff!!

Myself and my partner stayed in the Crowne Plaza on a trip throughout Italy. The hotel has some amazing perks.. the rooms were extremely tidy - great selection of t.v. The bathrooms were also fab with his and hers sink - there is great attention to detail in the rooms .. The hidden toilets at the down stairs bar are really funky - you think it's a mirror !! The hotel sits on the metro line, the steps to the line are literally right outside the door - within 2 minutes you are in the centre of Milan. There isn't much around the hotel although if you fancy a few drinks there is a club/bar on the same street. Staff in the Crowne Plaza were pleasant - sometimes a little snobby, but i think that comes with the job ! The restaurant was way overpriced and we were the only two people eating in it - not a great atmosphere ! Would use the hotel again for it's convenience to the metro and the train station (which is literally a stones throw away!)

This is a new hotel that is modern and contemporary in design throughout. Both the public areas and the bedrooms are in excellent condition. I have used both the standard and the executive rooms and they are well furnished with good beds, linens and flatscreen tv. The bathrooms are stylish and in very good condition. The whole hotel is exceptionally clean and the housekeeping for the bedrooms is first rate. Unless you have money to waste or it is a special occasion stick to a standard room.
Beware! reservations are quoted for single occupancy and an extra 50 euros per night is added for the second person. Be clear before you book.
Breakfast is standard European with the usual breads, pastries, cereals, yoghurts etc. Fruit juices are not 'fresh squeezed' and fresh pineapple and melon are supplemented by other tinned fruits. The Hot breakfast is minimal and always looked tired. The coffee is quite good. At weekends the breads and croissants were not particularly fresh. Unless you really need this breakfast i would give it a miss, Milan is full of excellent early morning Caf'e, that serve great, juice, coffee, breads, etc.
The local area has little to recommend it, except that it is a short walk to Central Station where there are trains to side trips like the Lakes or Verona. The coaches also depart frequently from Central to all Milan airports.
The Metro station 'Sondrio' is directly outside the hotel and the line takes you to the Doumo in less than ten minutes. Great value at 1 euro a ticket. Buy a carnet of ten at the tobacconist opposite the hotel or at the Station. The Corsa Como is about 15 minutes walk away, a pedestrian area with nice cafes, bars, restaurants, shops. Via Garibaldi is 5 minutes further walking but is a larger area.. If staying over a Saturday evening and you require a restaurant at around 8.30 - 9pm, make a reservation.
I would recommend this hotel and would stay again if it was a deal 'at the right price' or my company was paying.

The hotel is brand new and has an extremely convenient location, 5 mins. by walk to the main rail station (therefore especially if travelling by train to Milan).
The rooms have an exquisite furnishing, modern and clean; the neighborhood is crowded, noisy and quite grey, but the hotel is a quiet and elengant island.
The underground station is exactly in front of the hotel door.
We had a friendly welcome and got a really good price for the weekend, booking through the website.
I would stay there again without any doubt!

  • Liked — cleanliness, modern furnishing, location
  • Disliked — the 15 euros p.p. you have to pay extra for breakfast! (not in italy please...)
