“Cosy restaurant with good Milanese food”
Reviewed 27 July 2012 via mobile

I have stopped by there alone after a long walk in the city. A very nice old gentleman served very good food and especially house wine. Octopus salad and Milanese cutlet were very good, as well as the wine.

“Centered, nice food. Come to eat after 7pm”
Reviewed 16 May 2012

Coperto-2€. Risotto-15€. Tagletti-15€. Straccetti di manzo-20€. Vine-4€ per glass. Dessert-6€.

My gf hates risotto but when she read TA reviews she took risotto with seafood and she liked it (wow!). I took stracetti di manzo - it looks like ball of meat slices under cheese. We were on foot all day and were very hungry, so it was very pleasant to take big meat :). Our friend took tagletti, he said that tagletti is ok but he didn't like sauce.

Maybe you won't like atmosphere, because Interior is a little bit old. But place and food definetely worth it.

“Great dinner, good service”
Reviewed 28 April 2012 via mobile

The location is very close to the duomo. We had a business dinner of 8 and they took very good care of us. The wine was reasonably priced. Best of all was the Osso Buco. It just fell off of the bone and the risotto underneath was phenomenal! Best meal on the menu.

“Good kitchen and cosy atmosphere of passed times”
Reviewed 24 January 2012

It might be difficult nowadays to find in the very heart of Milan a place with a good kitchen and a really traditional atmosphere without having money inadequately ripped. I am happy I trusted once more Tripadvisor and found one at il Cantinone.
The first nice feature is its opening at 7 p.m., which would have been in keeping with old Lombard traditions, but is difficult to find at other restaurants, thus making dinner too fast for people attending theatres or other evening activities without being too late at night.
It is a really a cozy and warm place, where you can imagine you are breathing the same feelings as people did at the time of Giuseppe Verdi, or your grandmother.
Reservation , welcoming and service are attentive and kind, without being intrusive.
All the recipes of the authentic Milan tradition are listed in the menu , besides the classics of the international kitchen that can match anybody’s taste in any part of the world.
The only note keeping the evening away from a five star evaluation has been the wine list, not because the albeit limited but still adequate selection, but for overpricing at 2-3 times the shop price.
In any case, I’d like to be there again.
