“Tourist trap”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2012

Being a short distance from the Central Station towards the centre, the restaurant thrives on tourist walking around on their way to the hotel or to the city centre.
Pizzas are generally forgettable and the staff tries in any way (and often force) you to get antipasti or other fish plate, which is generally as forgettable as the pizzas.
The only thing you won't forget at the end is the bill.

It's funny to see how an Italian man who lives 15 minutes far from the centre of Milan (your profile say Pioltello) speaks english so well only to make a rewiew to scare our tourist!
we don't understand why, you can do the rewiew in italian!! you are not a tourist, you are italian , how can you fall in the trap?!
We are glad to have tourist , they come to Italy to visit our beautiful city and eat our wonderful food.. and it's not our intention to ripped they off!
are you sure you tryed our food?
you don't say what you eat, what you drink.. how can we say if your bill was expensive or not?
For this reason we think that you are someone who works near us..and probably jealous of our succes with tourist!

“We've liked it!”

Great risotto with mushrooms, tasty pizza, very good pasta - I want to come back. It is also very cosy there and a lot of local people come to have dinner. I would recommend it :)

“A sure value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 October 2011

Excellent food, excellent service what more is there to say about this restaurant in busy Milan. We were there on a Friday evening and the terrace was humming. Bar with music next door, the place was busy but the service was still perfect and friendly. They made a mistake on my husband’s plate bringing a champagne risotto instead of the mushroom that was ordered but they redid the order quickly and beautifully. Best risotto in Italy so far, and served really hot. I had a plate of swordfish mixed with tomatoes, eggplants and spices and it was wonderful. The owner took us inside at the end of our meal to show us the décor and he’s very proud of all the photos of famous people that have been to his restaurant. The interior décor is romantic and professional. We were offered lemoncelllo on the house. Wonderful food, service and attitude. Can’t go wrong with that one.

“It deserves to be higher on the list”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2010

A nice local cuisine in Milano. In august many restaurants is closed. We went to La Porta Rossa and we got a nice pizza both of us. Near central station and I think there is a lot of "tourist restaurants", but this one was special. Visit La Porta Rossa and you will get nice food. Value is top!
