Da Ave is a hidden gem. An everyday eatery for the people working around Bovisa which provides remarkable home made food for well under 10 euros. Their ravioli are home made (and if you only have that you can eat for less than €5!). A great variety of freshly home made dishes is available every day (and changing every day). But do look out for Fridays. It is fish market day and they make some delicious dishes. If I can recommend my favourite try the baby octopus with a wonderful tomato sauce and potatoes. It deserves a trip to this not particularly attractive part of Milan. Get a train from Cadorna or bus number 92 to its last stop. Don't expect frills. Just honest family food at extremely good prices.
