Just arrived back from a weekend break in Milan with my wife & 4 year old son, firstly Yes it is in an industrial estate & Yes its more suited for a business trip but don't let these put you off, the staff couldn't be more helpful to me & my family. The hotel is a 25-30 minute train ride from Malpensa airport, it costs €11.00 per Adult when you arrive at Bovisa, call the hotel & the FREE shuttle bus will come & get you. the FREE shuttle service really helps, it takes you to Bovisa, Certosa & RHO Fiera stations & collects you as & when you arrive back after calling the hotel. We didn't eat anything other than breakfast in the hotel, we ASKED the front desk if there was a pizzeria local & a bar & the shuttle took us to a very small area which had 2 pizzerias & a bar where we had proper Italian Pizza & Pasta...Portevenere it was called, the bar was directly opposite & we watched the England match in there, On the second night again we ASKED the front desk I there was anywhere else to eat locally & again the shuttle took us to a small complex with a burger restaurant called Old West & another Pizzeria called Rossopomodoro, also in this complex is a Cinema, Small Amusement Arcade.

The food & drinks in the hotel are expensive but what we did is ASKED where the local supermarket is & went & bought some beers for 55c each, few bags of crisps n munchies for the room, there are chilled mini bars in the room, which we used to chill the beers n water. In the evening before goin to said restaurants me n my son would take a beer n juice down to the garden area n sup up whilst waiting for the wife, none of the staff questioned why I was drinking beer not bought in the hotel.

Milan central was around 20 mins on train from Certosa & cost €1.50 single, this is valid on train, bus & metro(underground) for 75 minutes from point of activation (you activate the card when you put it in the turnstile) We found public transport to be far better than UK, if you can do London then Milan is a doddle.

On the Sunday we went to Lake Como which again is a train ride from Bovisa, takes around 45 minutes & cost €17.50 return for both of us, son was free. I absolutely Reccommed this trip, it is fantastic, beautiful, picturesque, a lovely day out. We went on a half hour bout trip for €5.00 each & €2.50 for the boy, it takes you around the lake closer to the edges to get some great snaps.

There is a waterpark call Gardaland Waterpark which is a train from RHO Fiera to Lotto & the the 423 bus, all in all about 50 minutes with waiting for buses etc, it was €17.00 each in & it was fantastic in 30 degrees plus, loads of slides, big & small, lazy river, normal & kids pools, grassy areas, burger n pizza bars.

All in all I would recommend The Hub Hotel & Milan for a short trip, it was fantastic, great hotel, great staff, great city, Seek & You will find, ask & the door shall be opened!! Don't just sit there expecting things to be on your doorsteps. My review is an honest 'long winded' review of Milan & The Hub Hotel. Hope you find it helpful. Cheers!!

Room Tip: 1214 was a floor below the spa & swimming, great views of the skyline too!!

Travelled in June with husband and 2 kids for 5 nights. Originally wanted to alter the dates we were staying to accommodate a 2 day Lake Garda trip but booking.com said no to any flexibility regardless of it being 8 weeks before our stay. No stars for them!! However, the Hub was great. Small pool entertained the kids (10 and 12) and FOH staff were very helpful in giving us train times and routes to allow us to travel by public transport to Lake Garda. Shuttle bus from the hotel to local train station great service. Food in the hotel was a bit pricey and nothing locally to go and eat at so a bit stuck (industrial estate with no shops). Breakfast was ok, decor was contemporary, free internet access excellent tho limited TV channels.
Rooms were nice - first room had an issue with a damp smell ("a mixture of wild garlic and wet dog" said my hubby!) but we were relocated with ease. Good location for train/underground to centre of Milan. Overall given how expensive Milan is, excellent value for money for B&B and friendly staff made our trip very enjoyable.

Stayed here for 3 night mid May. easy to find and if you have your own car you cant go wrong. located on the outskirts of the city you can get anywhere you want by jumping onto the major roads quickly. Parking is at a cost but just park on the road the hotel is on right outside and park for free! it;ll safe more time as well as you can just in as you walk out the hotel rather than going into the basement car park.

hotel is nice. clean big lobby, nice decor. had a delux room, was not bad. coffee machine, modern shower very comfy bed. cant fault the hotel it did tick all the boxes. Breakfast is free for a standardish breakfast you have to pay for bulkier foods such as omletters french toasts etc.

nice hotel if you want a hotel for a short City break IF YOU HAVE YOUR OWN CAR and feel modern italian designs. nightmare if you are depending on public transport. the hotel is in the middle of an industrial estate. so avoid if you do not have your own car.

We were mom, dad and ten year old child staying for one night en route to somewhere else during the Christmas season. Being off-season we found the hotel to be quiet. The staff were attentive but might not be so during high season. The pool was too cold to swim in. The restaurant was fabulous. The decor was very stylish in the bar/lobby. The location is closer to the highway sytem and not great for tourists (but doable if you get a good deal and don't have other choices). We would definitly stay here again.
