“Convenient!”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

The hotel is extremely close to the station and about a 1-2 min walk away (use the underpass towards the stairs on the left). Definitely recommend for travels to and from Milano St Lucia. The wifi was fast and accessible, free buffet with eggs, ham, salami, croissant etc. However, the furniture and interior of the room felt very old school and classic. Would have liked a more modern approach to match the hotel.

Hotel looks new, rooms are modern. Although located in industrial area, it is close train statioin (15 min from center), the fair and San Siro stadium.
They have a free hotel shuttle for transportation to the tran / metro station.
Great spa and pool area. Very helpful and friendly service. Great breakfast variety from fresh crossaints, fresh fruit and continental breakfast.

We moved from the amazing Barcelo Hotel to The Hub because we read good reviews and needed a hotel with a shuttle to the train station. It's a five minute walk between the hotels but The Hub picked us up with our luggage in their free shuttle. The outside of the hotel is nothing special, it looks like they took over a corporate building in a series of three identical buildings in the same neighborhood as the Barcelo but a little bit further out. The lobby and hallways are decent but seem a little dated and worn, however the rooms are very nice. Ours had a king sized bed, in room safe, side tables, TV and a long desk/counter extended the entire window side of the room which was great for working. There is also a mini bar. Like the Barcelo, they provide an excellent breakfast at no charge with everything from eggs to freshly baked croissants and juice. For some reason, the mini bar and restaurant were much more expensive at The Hub than the Barcelo, so for a great meal and wine selection at a relative bargain I suggest walking the five minutes to Barcelo.

The Hub shuttle took us to the walkable Certosa train station whenever we requested or the Uruguay Metro stop which was further away. The shuttle runs 24/7 but only holds eight people so during busy times, you may have to wait for the next one. Also, during commuter hours in the morning and evening the shuttle doesn't run and they forgot to tell us that so one night we had to wait 45 minutes after calling them at Uruguay station which was fine. We sat on a bench in a lovely residential neighborhood with a park across the street while waiting. The hotel has a 24 hour fitness center on the top floor overlooking the city and a pool that is open from 7AM–9PM which is a little run down but nice with city views and very well maintained. When in the fitness center early a couple of days, I saw the staff remove every piece of furniture from the pool area and mop the floors. The rooms and bathrooms are also very clean and the bathrooms are high quality and spotless. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet comfortable spot with great beds and bathrooms and an in room safe and excellent breakfast at a relative bargain.

Pros: well maintained, clean, high quality rooms and safe, free fitness center and pool, free excellent breakfast, free shuttle to train stations nearby, friendly staff, much nicer and less expensive than hotels in tourist areas

Room Tip: If you are traveling to the hotel later at night or very early in the morning, you may want to consi...

If you don't mind being out of the centre and on the spaghetti junction area of the north and western bypass, then this is a really great hotel for the price. We were travelling, so didn't need to be in the centre of town.
On a hot day, the swimming pool (small wellness pool to be exact) would be a respite. The fitness area also free to use.
Restaurant was just a joke, would bother.. either bring a picnic or drive out to somewhere nearby.. or even into town.

This hotel is situated near the convention centre. The hotel lobby is very big and spacious. I stayed 1 Night in a Twin bed room. The room size is ok and is quite cosy. 1 thing I must comment is bathing must be very careful because your room might be flooded. Because the only water drainage is only via the bath tub and the room+toilet flooring is made of wood. Make sure the toilet floor is dry at all times else it will be a disaster.

We are a young couple who went to Milan for a long weekend, seeking to relax and to know a little about this famous city.
We've booked in this hotel mainly because of the spa, that quickly turned disappointing.
But this was not the worst thing about the hub: first, the awfull location is not inviting (old industrial area, with nothing around, so you need to eat at the hotel restaurant, that is not that bad, except for the prices), then you have the free shuttle service to the train station, no problem getting there, but get ready to wait 30-40 min in the station on the way back (a not in a very pleasant neigbourhood). This together with a very expensive roll of services, makes a stay at the hub an almost awfull experience.

Dear Joao,
thanks for choosing our Hotel and for your opinion so important for us to understand our client feelings.
Of course we apologize for the inconveniences caused, but our shuttle service 24h day is very valued and the location will be strategic for next Expo 2015.
Best regards

The biggest problem with this hotel is that it is not only in the middle of the nowhere, but it is surrounded by derelict buildings and wasteland. The rooms are OK, but the absence of any drawers was a bit annoying, as the only furniture available are a cupboard and open shelves. There were also quite a few practical problems: when we were there, the air conditioning was not working properly and during the night the temperature easily climbed to 24º, even though the outside temperature was around 14º. With no possibility to open the windows, it was often quite uncomfortable. There were also some maintenance issues, in particular the fact that there was a gap at the bottom of the shower door, resulting in water linking out whenever you took a shower and damaging the wooden floor (see photo). We also had no hot water on the first day we were there, something you would think would be mentioned by the reception staff when you check in, with some apologies. But no, it was only when we complained about it the next morning that they admitted that they had some boiler issues which hopefully would be fixed soon (they were indeed fixed in the evening).

Breakfast is OK, but the coffee machine was making very poor coffee (you can get better coffee if you order it from the staff, but they won’t offer it to you if you don’t ask).

Finally, the location means that you are dependent on their shuttle. And there too there was quite a few problems: they have two vehicles but generally only one driver, so you may end up waiting quite a long time. The worst is that they never tell you how long it will take, which is particularly annoying if you are waiting for them outside Certosa station. Some colleagues ended waiting an hour one evening, the worst we had was about 40 minutes, but we had been told that the driver would arrive in 10 minutes. Overall, better avoid this hotel.
