Edinburgh, unfurtunately Heathrow, Milan, Lecco, Peschira del Garda, Padua and Venice.
This tour was done by train, which are superb. Time and money saved rather than doing it by hired car and you still see the country albeit at a fast rate of knots.

Well where do we start? This is totally precied, go BA, ignore bus jet.
Hotel Berna in Milan we can nor recomend highly enough. Five minutes from the central station and very handy for trams to city centre.

Lecco, Hotel Ponte Vechio, varied opinions, for me no.Personally I prefer Como because it gives you better access to the star of the show of all Italy, Bellagio. Oh what a place, oh what atmosphere, a place to just take root. Como is the most accessible by way of ferries, of all the lakes.

Pechierea Garda, Hotel San Marco, ok. The hotel is superb, family run, very friendly and to a high standard. Can't say any more in print! Cafe Centrale not to be mssed but to be fair the town has an abundance of good cafes and resutrants.

Did a Verona day taking in Opera, bored, amphitheatre immense, only saving grace.

Padua, Best Western hotel very good, to be recomended although not central, not a real tourist place but to be fair not without it's sights. Fortunate in that there was a European folk dance and music festival on when we were there. It was so, so good. Out of 171 ensembles, one from Greenland, none from GB. Although some impersonators from Scotland.

Venice. Hotel Santa Chiara.

If you want a hotel with a view, with access to everything this hotel is a must. View straight down the Grand Canal, walking to where you wish or by water taxi or bus and bus or train to wherever.

Venice is something you see in films but in the stone is stunning. Go to Lido and the islands, they could make a great base for a longer stay. We are considering that.

Airport San Marco venice to Edinburgh.

End of Safari.
