“Unpleasant Stay for a fine Hotel”
Reviewed 23 July 2013

Very disappointed with such a luxury hotel. Smokey drapes, poor service, and unpleasant staff. It was our Christmas holiday. The hotel was lovely, but the service and cleanliness of the room was very poor. Would not recommend. There are many other hotels with a higher standard of service and quality.

Room Tip: Not a pleasant and comfortable stay.

We had high hopes for this hotel based on reviews and the high price of a room. I think we paid almost $800 dollars and this was not even for a high end room. There was no view and the room was cramped with little room to store luggage. I get that rooms in Europe are small, but I expect more at this price point. The service was just ok minus very helpful concierges. I don't like it when waiters act better than you. The location was okay if you like fashion, but at night time the area was dead and we weren't overwhelmed by the number of restaurant selections. My husband was here on business and changed hotels to Starhotels Rosa, which is right next to Duomo. I think in general, Milan is a bit run down....so maybe that's what's going on here.

This is really a Grand Hotel. Aside from its great location, the service is impeccable . The rooms and bathrooms are very well appointed. The ambiance is very old world which should be preserved. They make you feel like a queen in this hotel. This is the third year in a row that I have stayed here. After staying here, I will never consider another hotel.

Excellent location for shopping and restaurants. 2 minutes walking distance to the Metro underground. Nearby Nobu Japanese restaurant, hotel Armani. Across the street via Montenapoleone.with all the designer best shops as Corneliani, Paul and Shark, Zegna, Tods Hogan etc. 10 Minutes walking distance to Duomo, Scala, Cathedral. Room has classic decor, very clean and my compliment for the excellent room maid service. The bathroom is spacious with complete toiletry. We have room number 309, which is quite.
Breakfast buffet was good, but overpriced, price 35 Euro.-
For the WIFI the hotel charged 9 or 15 Euro per day. One bottle water in the room 6,50 Euro.
When the price for stay in this hotel is no problem, it is an excellent hotel with excellent location.

Room Tip: Room number 309, quiet room.

After starting our 12 day Italian vacation in Rome, we ended our final night in Milan. I chose this hotel based on a first class tour company that I am familiar with, and they use this hotel. Although we were only there one night, it was superb! Very friendly, helpful, gracious staff and absolutely beautiful grand hotel! Perfect location as well. If ever in Milan again, I will stay here!

Such a beautiful, elegant hotel with the best location. Amazing history, friendly staff and gorgeous decorations. Beside the building is Armani and the Nobu restaurant is a must!

Close to the cathedral and shopping arcade. In the centre of all the designer shops.

Our rooms were delayed for ages but they made up for that, and the concierge was beyond helpful.

The gym is quite cool and the food at the restaurant is amazing.

Can't really complain!

Great for shopping, the Scala, restaurants, everything nearby, cross the street and you are in the famed and unique Montenapoleone. Across the street is Armani, hotel, store Nobu.

This great hotel insists on charging for Internet, and an inferior service of Swisscom, with repeated dropped lines, endless wait to connect to sites, and innumerable need of logins, with contorted user ID's and passwords. This is unacceptable for CEO's and staff at business meetings, the price addition of at most of 2% of the room rate, spoils the other 98% of the bill. How shortsighted managements are at this hotel and others in short changing their business clients with poor Internet service, and spoiling what should be a perfect and beautiful stay.

Room Tip: I like inside rooms
