From the moment we arrived at the Spadari al Duomo we felt at home. Late Sunday afternoon, train from Venice two hours late, first rain storm of the season, lots of baggage - it could have been horrendous. But our smiling welcome from the young lady and her team at the front desk was spontaneous. Registrations done, easy. Baggage removed, in a flash. Suggestions for true local Milanese dining, booking completed without any fuss, how to get there map explained. Forward flight details sorted on line and fixed. Nibbles and a bottle of prosecco to the room, with compliments. Big beaming smiles. Anything else we can do, senor et senorina? We do hope you will enjoy your stay. . . .
Somewhat flabbergasted, we walked into the lift and slipped up to #72, our double street facing room on the seventh floor, and walked into what could only be described as a designer chic paradise. It was a beautiful collection of soft colours and great fabrics, an original water-color on the main wall and a number of state of the art lamps. With the rain falling outside the window, the reflected lights of cars and trams on the street below and the Duomo looming above the nearby rooftops, it was just magic. All the room and bathroom appointments were first class as was the wide choice of high quality offerings (and the coffee says my wife) at breakfast the following morning and the rest of our stay. A few metres from the Duomo, the Teatro alla Scala and of course the Fashion precinct, this really beautiful four star designer hotel has got it all. Topped off by first class 24/7 customer service. Don't hestitate. Make a reservation, you won't be disappointed. We will be back for sure.

Excellent staff and location. The rooms are spacious for a family of 3. The location couldn't be perfect, just steps from the Duomo and Galeria Vittorio and the Opera House. Food places abound and the staff recommendations were just great. Lovely place with lovely employees that make your stay a really unforgettable one.

This hotel is in a wonderful location, about 200m from Duomo, shopping etc. There is the famous "Peck" food store right next door and Laudree macaroon shop across the road.
Breakfast is good with a good selection. Rooms spotless. The reception staff were very very friendly, spoke perfect English and were ready to offer help whenever we needed it.

We discovered "Brera" on our last day and wished we had spent more time there. There is a much better selection of reasonably priced restaurants in this area. It has more of a community/less mega city feel than the Duomo area and is only 20 min walk from hotel.

"Last Supper" is a 25 min walk and very impressive. Make sure to book in advance!

We went to an AC Milan football/soccer match at San Siro - an experience to say the least. We did not really feel safe as our seats were amongst the die hard fans who stood the whole match, smoked, and behaved appallingly. We wanted to leave at first when flares were set off and loud unusal "bangs" were heard.......but we ended up staying and it settled down .....a little. Would not recommend taking 13yo children to the soccer there!

We only stayed here for one night but it was wonderful! We stayed here the eve of my birthday and when we arrived there was a bottle of champagne and plate of strawberries and chocolate waiting in the room for us as a birthday present (very thoughtful)! We had a room on the 6th floor with a balcony and view of the spire of the duomo which was beautiful (although the room was on the small side). The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom fantastic. The breakfast was also incredible and it was a shame we had a lunch booking because we could have eaten all day!

This hotel isn't of the best standard, but the service is impeccable - and the location is just perfect. I can safely recommend this to anybody visiting Milan. Don't expect a luxury hotel, but more of a cozy, "upgraded" hostel.
