“Off Season - Pink Floyd Ballet”
Reviewed 4 December 2013

This was one of the most memorable experiences of a lifetime. It was off season for traditional fair, but the Pink Floyd Ballet was playing. We were able to score fantastic box seats which I am sure we would not have gotten during regular season. This place is just wonderful inside. It's a must see!

And the Ballet was awesome. The dancers were actually enjoying themselves, we could see them smiling. Something you don't see at high season either. Regardless of time of year, this is a must see in Milano.

“Would like to see a show there”
Reviewed 1 December 2013

We visited as part of an express half day tour. The interior is like what you see in the movies, velvet, private boxes, etc. I think it would be more spectacular if you could actually see a live performance rather than just walk through the halls to the gift shop.

“Visit the Opera for 13 euros!”
Reviewed 29 November 2013

I was unable to book tickets for the Opera before we left England. Huge mark up through third parties. I knew they offered cheap gallery tickets on the night and we were lucky to get some. However the seats at 13 euros were really terrible - talk about a restricted view - there was no view! However unlike our opera houses the ushers were happy for us to stand and so we positioned ourselves centrally with a great view and noticed several others in the know doing the same. Okay your standing but for the price and the great view it was amazing. La Scala is THE opera house and the set and the singers (we saw Aida) did not disappoint and were absolutely amazing.

“Expensive and poor view”
Reviewed 24 November 2013

Teatro Alla Scala is an experience! We saw Aida with a huge cast on stage, and enormous orchestra in the pit. But try to get someone in Milano who knows that house to buy your tickets for you. The website is difficult and the English version is not accurate in its translation. We asked for 2 tickets together but received one at 240 Euros and the other at 80 Euros. The seats were in #9 Box on the left facing the stage. What we discovered is that we had been sold one ticket in the front row with a view of the stage, and one in the 3rd row (seat 5) at the back with no or little view. The boxes should only have 3 seats, but they have put 5 in them and the person who sits at the back in seat 5 sees nothing.
Even when we went to the ticket office the day before to ask what was going on with these tickets, they shrugged and said we were in the same box, so "together". But no-one explained that the person in seat 5 can't see!
