“A jewel”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

The museum is very nice and adds to the tour of the opera house and the history of opera. There were no performances at the time we were in Milan.

“worth seeing for music lovers”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

La Scala is an opera house with museum attached. you can wander in to the box area of the theatre and also look round the museum part where there is an extensive library and costumes from some of the most famous operas. There are also bills on the stairways of past produtcions.

“It's not as grand as I had expected”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

It looked small, and humble from the outside. Nothing like the Opera house in Paris. The front entrance was closed. We were about to leave when I decided to walk into the gift shop on the side, and found out that it was actually possible to pay for an admission and tour the inside of the theatre. We did that, and it was ok, but nothing spectacular. If you haven't got anything else to do or fancied about the Milan Opera house, it's ok to pay a visit. Otherwise, you can safely skip this one.

“An ideal opera house”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

One of the most valuable experiences ever! I would suggest to visit La Scala for tourists even if they are not great opera fans (as we are :-) ), as the building, atmosphere, the opera and orchestra itselft, the shop on the ground floor, location next to main sightseeing spots - everything is simply perfect!

I loved the place!

“Good but expensive”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

The best part is going in the boxes, as you would if you were a wealthy Italian! The museum part has some fabulous instruments and costumes but it is only an hour maximum to see it all, making the entry fee quite high.
Good views from the balcony to the Vittorio Emmanuel arcade.
