We wanted to try something else than Italian food after two weeks in Italy. Thought we had selected a Spanish restaurant, but it was Argentinian. So there was a focus on meat - a lot of meet. We had a mixed grill for two, but it could easily have been shared by three. Flexible service and good food.

A very good place to go if you are hungry.

Dear meat lovers, this IS a place for us! The atmosphere is very argentinian, kind of nostalgic, with old movie posters as decoration. Cozy, even if the space is open. There is a back secluded room, too. Simple wooden tables, comfy chairs.

The food: Locro stew was good, but nothing to die for. The bread is very good. Then came my steak - Bife de Chorizo, al ponto. It was soft, tasty and wonderful. Outside sealed perfectly, with juicy red, but not bloody interior. On the plate, it was accompanied by some salad and grilled potato and onion. Besides, when I asked for Chimichurri sauce, it came together with 3 more items - boiled beans, chickpeas, roasted pepper and tomato salad (very tasty) and excellent Chimichurri, made of fresh herbs with good quality olive oil. It was all included in the price of a steak. As I was very hungry, I polished the plate, but the portion was huge.

Drinks: Excellent german beer, for starters. Wine list consists of a few Argentinian and the rest of Italian wines - it is small, but appropriate. Includes 5 or 6 Trapiche (Mendoza, Argentina) wines to cover the range of what Argentinian wines are famous for. Trapiche is a mass producer, but that doesn't necessarily mean low quality. A young (2011) and rather light (12,5%vol) Cabernet Sauvignon recommended by my Argentinian waiter was not the best thing I ever tried, but it had enough body, with some fruit and a bit of tartness that went very well with my steak. And it was a very good value, at 15 euros. On further visits, I think I'll try some more robust Italian, like Primitivo di Manduria, or so, but that will require sharing the bottle.

At 53 euros (including wine), it is acceptable - you can't have a top notch steak and expect it to be cheap at the same time.
