Very unusual decor of the rooms, fresh ideas, and good decorators’ job. We liked the breakfast and it was included in the price of the room. Most of all we liked fresh bread. I would recommend this hotel to people ,who are looking for good prices, comfortable, quiet atmosphere and very good location.

We stayed at the Hotel Mediolanum for one night in July. We were on our way from Venice to Switzerland and stopped for a night in Milan. What a wonderful hotel! First, it is less than a 10 minute walk from the train station which was very convenient. The hotel Mediolanum is a modern hotel that appears to have been recently renovated. They did a great job!

The rooms are a good size and very clean. The staff was wonderful. They sent us a bottle of Champagne as they found out it was our honeymoon. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we had in over two weeks in Italy. It was a huge buffet with both hot and cold selections. Not sure what else to say other than that it was a great hotel, in a great location, at a great price!

Hotel Mediolanum is a wonderful hotel near the Milano Centrale Station. After changing our hotel selection a number of times, we definitely ended up with the right choice. The hotel is about a 10 min walk to the train station/metro station. The hotel is decorated in sleek, modern decor. Our room was a decent size with a small plasma tv, desk, and armoire. See below for Pros/Cons:

Pros: Good location (close to train station & quick metro ride to Duomo), safe area, mini bar, clean, quiet rooms, friendly staff, staff spoke English, decent breakfast.

Cons: We had some trouble with the temperature control in our room, room did not cool down appropriately. Tiny elevators but not that huge of a problem.

Definitely stay here!

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Mediolanum - the room was nice (although small - typical of city hotels in Europe) and the staff were very helpful. We arrived in about midnight from the airport and although the bar had just shut they provided tea and something to eat without any hesitation. Breakfast was good - a good range of food to choose from, and all included in the room price..

I had spent hours trawling through various websites trying to find the right hotel for a romantic weekend with my better half taking in some sightseeing, shopping and Michael Buble on the Sunday night at the Forum.
After lots of research and having visited various hotel websites and/or booking agencies I decided to book the Mediolanum. This was in January before Inter Milan had secured a place in the European Cup Final!
I had booked our room at a very reasonable rate through Booking.com, I had done this before on numerous occasions with no problem whatsoever. I watched with interest as room rates all over Milan started to rise rapidly as the Saturday Cup Final got ever nearer.

After a pleasant early morning flight from Manchester over the beautiful Swiss Alps we arrived at a very sunny Malpensa Airport and proceeded to the city via the very efficient airport shuttle at a cost of 25 Euros (round trip). With map in hand we made the short walk from the Statione Centralle finding the hotel with little problem. On entry to the cool foyer area we were greeted by the stern faced Head of Reception; I showed him my confirmation email from Booking.com which he briefly scanned before replying, "NO" before proceeding to tell me there was no room available at this hotel! Impossible I had checked the hotel website that morning and they had rooms available for 4x the price I had paid 3 months previously!
The attitude of the receptionist was down right rude and totally unrealistic considering our confirmed reservation. He then told us we were to stay at the sister hotel around the corner at the Sanpihotel and it was only a couple of minutes away by taxi which he could call for us or we could walk!!
At this point my good lady stepped in and insisted that if we were to move hotels then we should have the taxi paid for, after all the problem was being created by their greed. Rather begrudgingly the receptionist agreed to pay the fare. After telling us that if we did not like the other hotel he could probably squeeze us in at the Mediolanum in a basic double. At this point I think I should explain that the Mediolanum is a newly furbished rather trendy hotel whilst the Sanpi is a dated/chintzy hotel.

Please read the Sanpi hotel review to find out what happens next!

Loved the design and decor of our hotel room - modern and funky yet very comfortable with lots of space. There was a bit of noise from the street outside late at night however I didn't find that to be a big issue as the bed was very comfortable. The hotel itself is not too close to the main tourist attractions like the Duomo but is only a short walk to the subway and the central railway station. Hotel staffs were courteous and friendly. Breakfast was also fine but nothing too spectacular. Overall a very fine stay and I would most likely choose this hotel again for my next visit.
