“Good solid 4 star hotel ,not great not bad”
Reviewed 6 March 2008

Not sure why there so many negative reviews , this is a good solid 4 star hotel ,not great and not bad . Good reception and concierge , Standard room was modern ,clean although small (Friends said rooms on the executive floor were massive) , Breakfast was good in a modern setting , location is convenient for the train station but not for the centre . I would not stay here again purely on location reasons . Expensive but thats Milan I am afraid .

One night business stay during fashion week, so normal choices like the Westin or the Principe either booked out or over budget.

Although definitely a Hilton, I may have been lucky or got a refurbished room, as was not as bad as others have indicated, with reasonable furnishings and bathroom ok (although some metal trim had come off the shower). On a cold night, the heating system worked ok. View from the 4th floor at the rear of the hotel was not inspiring. Room service ok and timely, both in the evening and for breakfast, but note no wines by the glass on the r/s menu. I arrived at c. 9pm and ground floor bar and restaurant were virtually deserted. Bed itself was ok, but pillows were like solid lumps.

Overall, I've stayed in worse rooms and I thought the size was ok, especially for Milan (where rooms can be v. small), but lack of character makes this a choice for me (or my company) only when other options are not available.

The hilton Milan was nicer than expected given some of the reviews. It is a business hotel and was great for the one night we stayed. The concierge was very nice, the bus station was a 5 min walk and the train station (right across the street from the bus station) was also 5 minutes, as was the metro.

Having had only great experiences with Priceline so far, I booked a night in Milan and ended up in the Hilton, which turned out to be a run-down and old, boring and absolutely forgettable hotel. Probably the last time I used Priceline to book a hotel.

The good:
- the price: I paid less than 100 Euro.
- The bartender was very friendly.
- HHonors members can gain/spend miles.

The bad:
- Dirty, shabby and old rooms. Careless bedmaking.
- Boring hotel bar. Definitely not worth it.
- Not really conveniently located to anything
- Extremely expensive garage.

Summary:
- Do not stay here for any rate over 70 Euro. It is very shabby.
- For approx 120-150 Euro, you can stay at Melia Milano, a much better
hotel.
- We only crashed there for a night, so it was fine. If you are staying longer, avoid this hotel if possible.

I stayed here as part of a work conference in November. At €200 a night this is an expensive hotel. It is well situated close to the main train station. The rooms are quite small and not sound proofed so you can hear the resident next door.
Broadband is charged at approx €25 for 24 hours, which in a business hotel trying to compete with modern counterparts is very expensive. Some 1 or 2 star hotels now offer wireless broadband connection free of charge, why do hotels that are charging high prices add this as an optional extra when it is really vital for day to day business.
The hotel has a small gym but no pool. Breakfast is good, the bar is tiny and situated in the lobby.

Convenient location - just a couple of minutes (walking distance) from the train station - and very high standard for both reception and concierge services.
Great hotel for business, don't expect luxury around: my room was tiny but I was happy to get it upgraded with no probs checking in.
Nice bar based in the left area of the hall, and very useful garage next to the hotel (priced 20 euro per day).
Single business traveller, I paid 185 euro with no breakfast. Average price in Milan.

Stayed here one night en route to Tuscany. Room was clean and modern. Morning breakfast room service was right on time and tasty. Business center was a good alternative to otherwise pricey in room internet. Bar area was entertaining with a good selection of Italian wines. Two blocks from train station, however be aware of gangs of thieves in and around the train station!
