“Satisfying stay”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

A modern hotel in the Western part of Milan, not far from San Siro. Easy to reach from the A50 autoroute and either Malpensa (closer using Malpensa Express to Cadorna station) or Linate airports.

Nice breakfast in a modern dining room with a great view over the western part of Milan (5th floor) ; also free parking which is nice but be sure to get in and get parked since its limited. Only about 10 minute walk to the metro stop Gambara, on the main red line.

Rooms are smallish but if you aren't in Milan to sit around your hotel room, then you shouldn't have any issues. Nice modern bathroom with rain effect shower. A nice way to start the morning. Abit hard to get the air conditioning to cool down the room, but not a big problem.

All in all, I will probably be staying there again in the future when business takes me back to Milan.

We stayed for 1 night as we were going to a gig at The San Siro which is about 30 minutes walk. the hotel is modern and well run and the staff were friendly and efficient. The room was well equipped and had a good clean en-suite and the breakfast was excellent with a few hot dishes as well as the cold buffet. The hotel also has a car park which was very useful as we were on a touring holiday.

A friendly welcome on arrival set the tone for our two-night stay. Our room was on the 5th floor and was a good size, very comfortable twin beds, a desk and a sofa. Free wi-fi was a nice touch. Breakfast was decent. A short walk (less than five minutes) from the metro station and walking distance to the San Siro stadium, which is why we picked this hotel. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it as a base for exploring Milano.

We spent four nights at this hotel, picking it because the price included parking, wifi, breakfast, and close access to the Milan metro, bus, and trolley systems. Our room (#315) had a small window and faced out over the rear parking lot, so it was quiet and spacious by European standards. (Not sure how quiet rooms facing the street would be.) The room included a safe, two luggage racks, a small table and chairs as well as wardrobe. The triple-function shower had a handheld device, a waterfall, and a rainfall system, and I found the handheld a bit difficult to manage. Toiletries were minimal... a little bar of soap and some shampoo/gel. A very large buffet breakfast was served on the 5th floor. The hotel no longer has a restaurant, but there is a bar on the first floor where one could have a light meal. (We ate in local restaurants, going to the Osteria Di Moro twice!) The staff were helpful and polite. We borrowed an umbrella for the one day it poured. The hotel is about two blocks from the nearest metro, which we used to get to downtown Milan. One day, we actually walked to the cathedral, but it took about 1 hour. Another convenience is a service laundry about a block and a half down the Via Pietro Rubens -- open 8am -9 pm for 3.5 euros each wash/dry. Other guests seemed to be a mix of business people and vacationers. Note, however, if you need or want to be smack in downtown Milan, this is not the place for you.

Room Tip: A room facing the back is probably quieter than one facing the street. The street is quiet in the e...

When we arrived at the hotel, there was a lady at the reception. She was not so friendly but correct though. A man brought us to our room, he was very kind! The room was okay, but a little bit dusty. The bathroom could be cleaner. But overall, it was okay. The staff at the bar was very friendly and helpful, the drinks were nice and we received crips and nuts for free.
We went to San Siro stadium by foot and later that day we also went to the city centro by metro.
Therefore the location is perfect!
Breakfast was amazing and rich... For 100 euros for a double room, we will certainly go back!

The Antares Hotel Rubens only minutes from the Gambara stop of the red line underground which, in only 8 stops, leads directly to Piazza del Duomo, the historic center of Milan.

Its also easily accessible by motorway from Linate, Bergamo Orio and Malpensa airports, connected by the Malpensa Express to Stazione Cadorna which is only 5 underground stops far from the hotel.

An elegant hotel which features a number of works of art.
Stained glass windows, red velvets, a next-generation bioethanol fireplace , designer furniture such as chairs by Patricia Urquiola, polished chromium tables by Pascal Morgue

The impressive Architectural details of the "Sala delle Nuvole" restaurant located on the fifth floor from where you can enjoy a great view of the city.

Enjoyed the hotel, well placed and very clean.
Breakfast on the top floor is great and there is a great view from the top of the house. good quality hotel, staff very friendly

I stayed here for business. It's not a new hotel but reasonably clean and tidy. It's in the S. Siro neighborhood, not far from the metro station. Breakfast was included in the rate and not bad in terms of choices (although maybe some fresh salad and freshly cut fruit would have been appreciated). In the evening I did try their restaurant which serves OK food, although they only have one waiter working there so it might take a little while to get your dinner.
