“Comfortable enough mid-range business hotel.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2014

Due to it now being the closest hotel to the new location for my company Milan office, I have utilised this hotel a couple of times during the last few months.
It’s a standard no frills business orientated hotel and I would agree with others that about 3.5 stars pitches this place about right.
The bedrooms are sizeable and comfortable enough with the large comfortable bed being the highlight and the lack of a proper wardrobe the lowlight. But they have all the amenities usually afforded including free wifi working in the rooms and most rooms now have the new glass fronted mini fridges and tea and coffee making facilities.
The ground floor restaurant and bar area is a pleasant space but I will agree with others that the restaurant space is not big enough to cope with a full hotel and does get overrun at busy periods. The offered breakfast is good enough though.
The hotel location in the north of Milan makes it handy for the Milan Exhibition centre being about 20 minutes away by taxi and the hotel does run a mini bus during trade shows. It’s about a 20 minute (and 25 Euro) taxi ride from Linate , but if arriving at Malpensa best to take the train and one change will get you on the line to the Lancetti station just around the corner.
I wouldn’t consider it an ideal tourist hotel (unless you can get a cracking deal), due to its location out to the north of Milan but as others have said it is easy to get to the centre of town from either the Machiacini Metro station a 15 minute walk away, or utilising the no2 Tram which can be picked up 5 minutes away.
I also read with surprise the previous comments about the area the hotel is located in. As a regular visitor to Milan for the last 15 years, frankly I didn’t even consider this , let alone that it was an issue. Yes it is true this is not a smart area, being mainly offices and residential flats, but as other have said outside of Duomo square Milan is not a smart city, and grey buildings completely covered by graffiti at ground level is the norm for all Milan areas outside the very centre. I can confirm it’s as safe as any.
My previous office location was to the West of Milan close to the San Siro and we used to utilise the Grand Hotel Brun (sadly now closed ) where it was a 15 minute walk to the nearest station past the travestis on the street corners displaying their wares , and compared to this the local area of the Hotel Milton Milano is positively pleasant…

I got a very good deal on this hotel which why I chose it. Ample bright rooms, rather comfortable beds, wi-fi free of charge and works well. I have not used TV so I can't make any comments on that. Bathroom was quite disappointing. Breakfast room is smaller than the hotel's capacity, but well organized. Food is tasty. Polite staff. Very long check-in process. Hotel is located 10 min walking distance to the metro station. There is not much to do in the zone, so you will probably want to go to the center. Overall, solid place for a short stay, but the interior desperately needs renovation to be in accordance with 4 stars.

Room Tip: Above 5th floor, in order to have a view.

Dear Guest,
I am very sorry that despite all the positive comments and compliments, you've found the interior "shabby". Every year, the Best Western submit our hotel and our staff, strict controls and requires us to overcome the scores related aspect of the hotel, both internal and external. Therefore I remain sorry that you did not like it, but the hotel is in conformity with international standards.
Hope to see you soon here at the hotel, to try to make you change your mind.
kind regards

Stayed for a weekend, great product. Room cleanliness of high standards, enjoyed the powerful shower as well as the large and comfy bed. Good customer service and even though not so centrally located the tube station was easily reachable in 15 minutes walk and just a 10 minutes tube ride to the Duomo.Overall a great stay, thanks to the staff and in particular to Cristina in reception, we will definitely recommend this hotel.

Booked this hotel as part of a GroupOn package. Hotel is a bit out of the centre. Local area not too bad on the whole. Nothing alarmed us from walking around. Decided to walk to the Duomo - took 50 mins from the hotel location. Hotel was good, room's good - large beds, spacious, clean. Beware though the snacks in the room are part of the mini bar tab. Wide choice of food for breakfast from cooked options to fruit, yoghurts, cakes and juices etc. Staff friendly. Would recommend it

We stayed at the Milton for a weekend holiday. The hotel is not in the center but only 500 m away from the next metro station. The metro will bring you in a short time to the dome and the center. The price for a ride is Eur 1.50. If you use a taxi, you have to count with 10 to 15 Euros.

Some people complained about the neighborhood, well some kebab stall don't make criminals. So the area is quite ok for Italy and we never felt unsafe. Italy is going trough some rough times, so be prepared to meet beggars in front of your favorite designer store.

As for the hotel our room was located in the 11th floor and had quite a nice view. The room was an average 3 star, not even a top 3 star. The furniture looks used and the walls are rather dirty. Air condition was not properly working, lucky we could open the windows. The bath room was clean but sending out an 80's spirit. Someone did an average job covering the mold around the bath tub and sink with thick layers of new silicone.

The breakfest is quite rich for Italian standard. Well scrambled eggs along with bacon and sausages don't make an American breakfast, but on the other hand there was a rich selection of cakes and cold cuts, bread, fruits and cereals, fresh oranges to squeeze you own juice, so I a,m ready to give this a 4 star rating.

The hotel has an underground garage at 16 Euros a day which is ok. What we could not understand, there is a lift that goes down to the garage, but hotel guests are not allowed to use it. I was quite staggered to see that it actually worked and is used by housekeeping. So offload your bags in front or you have to carry them up the stairs.

Wether I can recommend this hotel depends on the rate you can get. If you get a very good offer, why not for a city trip where you only need the room to sleep.

Cordiali saluti

Got this hotel in an emergency and enjoyed my stay as far as the sleeping arrangements went. Also the closeness to public transport and the quiet of the hotel certainly made it the right fit for me.

What was disappointing was the breakfast. It was included and I used it. The servers were totally disinterested in the guests who appeared to just fill their time they could have spend talking to each other. I took one bite out of a sample of melon which tasted SOUR and off so reverted to the bread and pancake like bites.

Going for dinner I did not because it is terribly overpriced. The staff behind the front desk are friendly and happy to help. Their English is better than most Italians on the street that I asked for help when my Italian language skills failed me for a word or two.

If you want to eat a brilliant pizza or other dish there is a place around the corner on Vialo Edoardo Jenner. A Chinese cook and his wife run it and I got the best pizza in ages for only 7euros. Freshly made from a little ball of dough, then stretched and thrown and twirled around, then fresh tomato sause on it, with a bowl of fresh frutti di mare on it and in the oven. The way you would like to get in it Canada.

Gentile Cliente,
Grazie e cordiali saluti

We stayed here two nights in November of 2013. The location is OK -- a good walk from the metro, the area is ok as well, but there were not any places to eat or shop closeby.

The room was ok, we could hear plenty of noise from the other rooms. The bed was not that comfortable and the room was very outdated. It was not super dirty but also not super clean.

Breakfast was included, and it was of average quality. Coffee ordered in the bar was quite good. The staff was polite.

We forgot a book in our room, and when we contacted them to have it returned, they said they would mail it, but we never received it.

We were not impressed with this hotel, and will not stay there again.
