“Stylish modern hotel at a reasonable price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2010

Starhotels Anderson is a modern hotel with a very impressive lobby in black theme. We had an executive room with a four poster bed which was nice, although I did feel that the standard rooms were maybe even more attractive! The bathroom was modern and clean (with a small TV as others have said too). The only thing that struck me as not in keeping with the rest of the room, was the CRT instead of a flatscreen TV. Not a real issue, though, and I imagine they will be changing them soon. The location is not ideal attraction-wise, since you need to get the metro for a few stops, but is very convenient if you are taking the shuttle bus from Malpensa Airport. Overall a very good experience at a reasonable price in an expensive city! Recommended!

My wife and I stayed here in October for our honeymoon. Having originally booked a cheaper hotel in what appears to be the city's red light district, I'm glad I went the extra mile to book here...

From the minute you walk through the door until you leave you are looked after. The receptionist made the check in process easy and there was chamapgne and chocolates waiting for us in our room. A nice touch that always gets your holiday off to a good start!

The rooms are furnished to a high standard and spacious. We were recommended a restaurant by the receptionist that turned out to be very local and reasonably priced. A 3 course dinner with wine costing 58 euros... On returning to ther hotel we sat for a couiple of hours in the well stocked bar enjoying cocktails!

The hotel is located directly across from Central Station, but the noise doesn't impose at all.

The one problem with our room was that it was quite close to the fire escape stair where the staff like to congregate for their fag break, but even that failed to spoil a fantastic break!

Please read this review in the context that this is a hotel in milan a city where a basic room is rarely under 80Euros during the time i was there. So i gave it a very good rating as i found it above average when taken in the context above.

Rooms: Clean, i found then large for italian standards with large comfortable bed. Bathroom had a large bath with a nice strong shower over it which was great for me after travelling for 13 hours from Singapore. The rooms have a small LCD tv but with all italian tv channels dubbed you wont really need to watch anything.

Hotel - Very cool lobby with black carpet and black walls with some great books on desgn/architecture/other art to read and a decent place to relax.

Location: Right near the central train station which is where the airport buses drop you off. Its very handy in that you can walk about 200m from your room to where the buses take off rather than lugging you luggage up and down the milan subways. Bus takes 45 mins to get to/from airport. Central station is around 4 stops (1 euro ticket) from duomo station so if your there for some shopping its easy access.

Starhotels Anderson in the heart of Milan, right by the Central Railway Station. From here you will enjoy easy access to the metro the public buses, and the airport shuttles.so location wise it very approchable. All rooms come with a Starbed, a comfortable, soft feather bed.The on site restaurant is available for lunch, dinner, or an aperitif. The bar serves snacks and gourmet pastries they are too good to resist. There are 5 meeting rooms available at the Anderson. On the whole The room was always clean and the bed was perfect! Very good location

I have to say, the rooms were excellent with every possible amenity needed in place. Especially loved the ipod docking stations and cozy bathroom. But I initially booked the 'I Love You Package' but didn't receive any of the items stated in the package. I initially thought its because they would put everything in our room at turn down but when we returned after an evening out, still nothing! In fact the staff didn't even acknowledge that we purchased it during check-in. The hotel is stylishly decorated and very vogue but could be equipped better with friendly, cheerful staff.

Service overall was excellent. Staff were friendly, always helpful, all smiles and everyone spoke English.

Room was nice, spacious, clean and modern. Beds were wonderful and they had this 'Pillowmania' menu where you could choose different types of pillows (which were really comfortable). We stayed here for three nights, one at the beginning and two at the end of our trip. We were upgraded the first night. On the second check-in, we were shocked to enter an unmade and dirty room. Staff were profusely apologetic and we were immediately upgraded.

I loved the location. The train stations (Both Centrale and Metro) are just across the street. The Duomo is just 4 stops (about 7mins away) by Metro. Both airport shuttles (Malpensa express and shuttle) stop right across the hotel too.

However, on both stays, we were on the lower floors. So if you are very sensitive, you can feel the trains moving below you. It was noticeable at level two. At level 3, only very slight. Ask for a high floor.

Perhaps the best hotel of our Italy trip for the pirce. Oh yes, Internet charges were on the high side. 3 euros for 15 mins! I didn't bother to ask for whole day charges.
