“good hotel”
Reviewed 27 October 2008

We stayed at the una hotel century for two nights in Oct. The hotel was close to the main station in Milan and about a half hour walk into the centre of town. The room was really big and very clean as was the bathroom. There is no air con which we thought ok in Oct but it turned out to be a really hot weekend(23 degrees) and the room was quite stuffy. We couldn't leave the windows open as there was mosquitos! I wouldn't stay here in summer with no air con. Breakfast was included but was chaos. There was a large selection of things but no glasses, knives, cups etc.The staff didn't seem that helpful and we ended up spreading butter with a fork and drinking juice from a bowl...when there was some juice.Having said that because of the location and size of room it was ok really. The biggest downside was when you left the hotel and walked on the street just outside. It was lined with trees that were obviously full of birds because there was bird poo all over the street and it really smelt bad. Made us gag!!

We stayed at the Una for a few days for a sight seeing trip to Milan.

Most transfers from the airport go direct to the Central Station and so was quick to get to hotel from there - walking distance mins.

The hotel is not in the central sight seeing part of Milan - however the Metro is close by also at station.

Additionnaly Milan has a good network of trams and on second day we worked out trams on road outside go direct to centre - Duomo (No2 ) and 9 as far as Port Navigli which was just perfect for getting a better feel of the city.

The staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly and the hotel rooms were spotless, spacious and comfortable. Would definitely go back.

Rooms were spacious. There was a bedroom area which could be closed off, a double sofabed, a desk area and tea and coffee making facilities. The buffet breakfast was great - hot and cold food and plenty of it! The hotel is easy walking distance from the central railway station and the metro which was very easy to use. it was only 3 or 4 stops to get into the city centre. There is a supermarket downstairs at the train station. There were plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. It was a little hard to find at first - the hotel doesn't front onto the street - you have to walk along a path between 2 other buildings.

Brillant location. Very close to centrale station & safe to walk to there. Supermarket nearby. Hotel itself is ok. Rooms big & have all amenities you would need...good toiletries, slippers, mini bar, safe, tea/coffee making facilities. As far as Milan goes I don't think you'll get as good a location or quality of a hotel for this price anywhere. Staff at reception were really friendly & helped us with where we should go to shop & out at night. Definitely would stay again.

The hotel was a bit hidden from the street. Help desk was helpful,
friendly and English proficient. Junior suite is quite spacious with a
king bed and a double pullout sofa, big work desk and ample cabinets and closets. Average sized clean bathroom. Shower has strong water pressure. Lots of sunlight from big windows. Internet is 6 euros an hour, or 10 for 2 hours, 25 for a day. Breakfast was handy with many choices. Will stay here again if available unless a place that's just as nice with cheaper internet is found. We were very pleased.

I was traveling with my wife, and my two children ages, 14 and 17. We were only staying one day in Milan and were leaving early the next day to catch a train to Lake Como. Therefore, we wanted to be close to the Train Station. (Make sure you get directions to the hotel) Even though it is only five minutes from the station it wasn't initally easy to find. The room was enormous for a European quad. It had a full bathroom. Beds were fine. The Front desk had the kitchen prepare breakfast boxes for us since we were leaving early the next day. Only negative was that there were not that many reataurants near the hotel. However, take the excellent metro/subway to other locations only 1 euro per ride.

A great place for a family of four. The room was very spacious and very clean. A lovely breakfast included. They are all about the pillow - if you don't like your pillow they have a brochure that lets you select a different kind i.e. firm, feather, soft, etc. The location was quiet and the staff was very helpful. I booked a quad room for $127.80 Euro's per night at hotels-direct-milan.com, what a great price. Had to take a taxi everywhere but I expected that. It's very close to the Central Train Station. A little tricky to find the place.

  • Liked — The large room for four people, the pillows and they had internet
  • Disliked — I had to pay for the internet
