Carlyle Brera Hotel

We enjoyed our stay at the Carlyle Brera. The location is great---steps from the metro which is a short ride to the Duomo and other Milan landmarks and also close to restaurants. The front desk staff is knowledgeable and they speak English well. Breakfast has plenty to choose from and they will make your cappuccino or coffee to order. The rooms are adequate in size, but not spacious. Unfortunately, the pillows are thin and uncomfortable. They have a brochure with several different pillows that are available upon request. I requested one which turned out to be so lumpy that it was laughable. A couple of the other pillows I requested were not available at the time. I ended up with 2 thin pillows which worked out pretty well.

This Hotel has excellent staff who speak English well. The free breakfast is terrific with a waitress taking orders for Espresso. The breakfast includes eggs (srcambled and boiled to your liking), pastries, meats, cheeses, juices, cereals etc. The rooms are quite large and modern, and they have two elevators. There are plenty of shops in the neighborhood, which is a little in decline. A fairly good value.

Having been to Milan twice before and been disappointed with the hotel and the city, I was really pleased to get a tip from a local to head to the Brera District. It's so civilised, loads of cafes, restaurants, shops and importantly you can walk to the major tourist attractions nearby or the metro is an easy and cheap option. The hotel is well-situated, staff pleasant, room small but clean, comfortable and quiet and for only one night - ideal. Yep I'd stay there again!

Room Tip: I was on the 6th floor, quiet with a pleasant view.

Hotel is situated next to various business centres.
There is a variety of restaurants and bars nearby.
Nice and safe external environment except for some annoying street sellers.

Clean and comfortable room. Helpful staff.

Hotel and bar facilities are a bit overpriced.

This hotel was all that we expected and more. We walked from the centrale station Milan, which wasn't all that bad since we did not have heavy luggage. It is located in the Brera district; my husband and I luved the area. There is a green line subway station right outside the hotel. The amenities, the desk staff, the room everything was great. There is a restaurant which is right opposite the hotel and there are many more restaurants and bars just around the place which get super crowded on friday and saturday night. On sunday evening you will see people relaxing and just hanging out, it was a great sight. The breakfast was ok at the hotel nothing to rave about, the croissants could have been a little fresher.

Even only the location would make this one fly! It's a 60'd timewarp well executed. The rooms are light and airy, well appointed if you like wood, and I do! The breakfast on the mezzanine is great. The lobby bar is good for unwinding, or you could go across the street where there is a wide selection of free snacks during happy hour.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the back, many of them have a small balcony
