We stayed here for 4 nights with another couple. It was old and tired but centrally located. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I got my bad stolen while having dinner down the street on the 1st night both mine and my husbands wallet, hotel staff recommended that we not bother going to police station as it would be crowded and we could be waiting for hours but when I arrived home I could not claim on Insurance as I didnt get a police report!
If you are looking for luxury this in not the place to go but we enjoyed our stay and didnt spend much time at hotel!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The location is excellent and close to Duomo, about 10 minute walk. However, the room is dark with noisy air-conditioner and broken door. Even though we turn the room temperature to 5C, it is still warm in the room. My husband and I got 2 bites on our legs and arms. We guess it is the mosquito bite. We stayed at the last room on 2/F, and we were both woken up by the noise early in the morning. We won't recommend this hotel to our friend

This hotel is very close to everything in central Milan. It has private parking which also is a plus. That's about alle the positive things there is to say about this place. The worst is the rooms. They without a doubt the ugliest I've ever seen. The walls are coverede with plastic panels similar to the ones you find i aeroplanes. The rest is covered in zebrano wood paneling and dark furniture. This combined with the miniscule size of the rooms makes the overall impression rather claustrophobic. It's clean and well equipped, but looks like a 70's airliner. The breakfast is poor as in most Italian hotels.

i stayed at the hotel carrobbio with 2 girlfriends from the 30/01/05 to the 04/02/05. We stayed in one of the standard rooms, which was in the older part of the hotel i think and not as nice as the part around the corner. For the most part, our stay was pleasant and comfortable. The hotel, situated in a narrow street, just off the via torino, and about a ten minute walk from the duomo, is centrally located and was convenient to the metro, tram and train stations. many other attractions were walking distance away and we were nice and close to the tourist office, which was very handy. Be warned, however, it does get a bit deserted at night along via torrino, once all the shops have closed- there were some dodgy people hanging around some nights (and not even that late either). In terms of the room, our tripple consisted of 2 double beds and a fold-out which though a bit lumpy, was comfy enough. the heating was a bit funny, in that the heater in the room propper didn't seem to work, but the radiator in the bathroom was always nice and toasty. the result was that the bathroom was always oveheated while the room was a tiny bit chilly. The bathroom was clean and always well stocked with soaps and towels and things. the sheets were also nice and clean with plenty of blankets and extra pilows. breakfast was also pretty good- no hot food, and a really slow toaster but lots of olive bread and loaker biscuits, nice individually made coffee and hot chocolate included, chocolate tarts, fruit and croisants etc - not the best i've had, but definitely not stingy. some of the fruit was a bit dodgy though- i don't lnow how often they check it for freshness. The staff was all really nice, especially the woman in charge of breakfast and david, the conceierge who helped us out a lot when my friend was feeling ill. my main complaints are in terms of the lifts: theyre were two of them, one of which was accessible from our room without having to use stairs, but absolutely tiny (3 people maximum) and the other which was bigger, but was only accessible from our floor by climbing stairs. Neither lift took you directly to reception either, but both forced you to climb stairs to get there and then yet more stairs to get to street level. this was an issue for us, because we had big bags and a general lack of upper body strength. other than that, the carrobbio was a good place to stay and i'd probably stay there again.
