We had made reservations weeks ahead of time via email for 730p on 21 October and were promptly seated when we showed up to a lovely table for two. The restaurant, the staff, the atmosphere were all very welcoming. The restaurant was quiet but within 30 minutes the place was buzzing and it stayed this way all night with a queue at 10p for people waiting to be seated.
We were brought a complimentary champagne cocktail with the menus and there was two kinds of bread on the table which were both delicious.
We shared everything from starters to desserts and there was plenty of everything. We started with the Scallops au Gratin and then on to the Spaghetti with Lobster which was a huge portion with lovely sweet fresh lobster. We then had the the fresh tuna fish with pistachio crust which was genius and cooked perfectly. We had two side dishes which were the potatoes with cheese, onion and bacon and the fennel and ping grapefruit salad which was recommended by our waiter to accompany the tuna and it matched perfectly.
For dessert we had the three tiramisu which was heavenly. This was all washed down with mineral water and a bottle of house red which was only 10 euros and quality!
Total bill for that evening was 64 euro. We wished we could have eaten more but our waiter was always advising this or that was enough. Service was great and attentive even though the restaurant was full.
We enjoyed our meal so much we made a reservation for lunch the next day. Lunch was just as good and the same welcoming champagne cocktail was brought to our table. They do have great lunch specials at 9 euro and 12 euro which includes 2 courses and coffee or a glass of wine and a small dessert, though we opted to order of the regular menu.
For lunch we had the ceasar salad, fried calamari and breaded prawns, ravioli with porcini mushrooms and truffle and the 3 way tiramisu again. Another bottle of red wine as a glass is 4 and a bottle is 10 so it's a no brainer. The waiter remembering us from the evening before suggested a different bottle of house red which was also excellent. Total cost 58 euro. The evening had a mix of tourists and locals though by later there was mostly local and lunch seemed to be the complete business crowd with only us being the tourists.
It was a rainy day that Tuesday in Milan and we happily went off to our planned visit of "The Last Supper"
