When arriving at the hotel we were very pleased to have been upgraded to a deluxe room, which was basically just a bigger room, but this was good. Having got in late we were happy that the restaurant was open until 22:30 and the food we have there was great quality. We had a room on the road side and if you are not used to noise then this could disturb you a little with the traffic however there wasnt a lot of people going past so this was ok.
There are blackout curtains in the room which was great meaning we weren't disturbed by daylight :) The breakfast is served until 10:30, there was a lot of good choices to please every one.
The location of the hotel is excellent for the Duomo and its directly on the tram that takes you to the San Siro as well. The hotel is only a 15-20min walk from the canals which are great at night for food and drink.
We had a small problem with the room, which the operation manager resolved quickly and to our satisfaction - Thanks Alfredo!

We stayed at the Uptown Palace after a 3 hour train journey from Central Switzerland. It is very easy to find - a few stops on the Milan Metro from Central Station. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming and we were soon in our very comfortable room overlooking the roof tops towards the Duomo. The service at the hotel was excellent, with all the staff we met, incredibly attentive and helpful. We ate in the restaurant the first night and although we were one of the only guests to do so, we were offered an excellent meal at a very good price. The breakfast was a full buffet with a good range of product. Overall, a very good, well priced modern hotel with high standards. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for upgrade - or ask for rooms overlooking the direction of the Duomo - these are at the back of...

Just returned from this hotel stayed three nights with my husband and teenage daughter. We were upgraded when I asked if it was possible so that was a great start !!!
To get to the point
...if you want a luxury hotel that is understated, within ten minutes walking of The Duomo, has wonderful attentive staff ...this is the hotel for you.

The hotel decor is boutique chic style. No corporate labelling or signage, this allows the hotel to appeal to travellers such as ourselves to blend in seamlessly with the business traveller.

Breakfast is varied, quality buffet offering scrambled eggs as the hot option and a myriad of cold meats, cheeses, breads, cereals and pastries.Tea and coffee.

The room was beautiful...such comfortable beds with linen sheets that were changed every day and turned down in the evening. No tea and coffee in the room though

What sets this hotel apart is it's staff. So friendly, professional and attentive.

Book it ....you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Explore the local area that the hotel is situated in. Turn right out of the hotel and you will find...

We were just in Milan for 1 day on a stopover. So we wanted to be close enough to the Duomo to catch all the main sights before we left the next day. This hotel was about a 7 min walk to the Duomo and all the shopping around there. So that was really convenient. Now about the hotel itself - it is very clean and comfortable, the decor is more modern, which we like. You could see the top of the Duomo from our room, which was nice I guess, not much else of a view. The rooms are a good size and spacious - this wasn't a small cramped European hotel, it was of comparable size to a standard US hotel room. Staff seem friendly and helpful, and had good recommendations for places to eat. Hotel was very quiet, didn't hear any noise from outside. Other than that, I can't say much else because we were just in and out for one night. Good location though, if you don't want to pay too much but still be close to the center of town.

Room Tip: Ask for a a higher floor room facing the Duomo.

The Hotel was clean, comfortable and True to its 4 Star rating. Continental breakfast was above average the staff was courteous and helpful. The noise of running water from the higher floor bathrooms was the only minor issue. Room and the bathroom were very clean and the beds were very comfortable and nicely done. We would certainly stay here again. Only dislike was the fact that there was no Wi Fi in the rooms and the lobby Wi Fi was limited only to 30 minutes use at a time (kind of cheap for this hotel)

One of the reasons I chose this hotel was the location, as I was visiting friends and wanted to stay within walking distance to their place. It is only a 5-10 minute walk to the Duomo, in a safe, quiet (for Milano standards) area, easily accessible from Linate, and close to tram and underground stations (without having trams passing under your window, though).

The hotel was formerly an apartment building, and it was only last year it was converted into a hotel. This is not a grand flashy palace, but an elegant and discreet middle-sized hotel.

We were given an upgrade (or so we were told). The room was not huge, but large enough for two persons. The bed was large and extremely comfortable and the pure linen sheets were simply the best I’ve ever had in a hotel. The bathroom had generous toiletries and large, soft towels.
The only unpleasant feature – which unfortunately appears to be a trend spreading among hotel designers – is the absence of drawers. The night tables were just tiny tables, without shelves or drawers, the desk had a little shelf, and the wardrobe had two miniature drawers, where you could not fit more than a pair of socks or briefs. Then there were two very shallow drawers under the minibar – of all places! So no place to put t-shirts, sweaters, underwear… I would guess that room cleaning would even be easier/quicker if guests were not forced to leave their stuff lying around all over the place!

The breakfast was very good and varied. The only remark I would make here is about the juices. The ones presented are the ordinary, dull, “from concentrate” varieties, but you can ask the staff for a “spremuta”, a delicious natural orange juice. Unfortunately I only found out that at the second breakfast. A nice touch would be to propose it more openly!

Service was polite and attentive. There was a turn-down service, with change of towels and good-night chocolate on the bed, but only on the first of the two nights spent there. Wonder why. Also, only one bathrobe was provided in a room for two.

Finally, I would have liked to have a directory in the room, with easily found information about the hotel services and their location, opening hours, etc., as well as services available in the neighbourhood. The only information provided was a printed sheet left on the bed together with the good-night chocolate, stating the restaurant opening hours.

On the whole, and especially if the small issues above are corrected, this is definitely a place where I would stay again, and that I would highly recommend, if they keep their comparatively reasonable prices.

My friend and I spent a beautiful weekend in Milan at this lovely hotel. The staff were efficient and helpfull. We booked with British Airways and the hotel was recommended by them. It is central and walking was a great way to see the city. The public transport system was also very easy. The Uptown Palace was a modern and comfortable hotel and the breakfast was good. The restaurants recommended by the hotel staff were also a great find. We would both recommend this hotel to other visitors to Milan.
