We were given a 2 night stay here as a gift from our sons. The hotel is quite a long walk from the city centre- it took us well over an hour each way. Public transport is good, but not very easy if, like us, you have a mobility scooter. There were steps up to the hotel entrance, but the staff couldn't have been more helpful and always carried it up and down for us- so much appreciated! In fact nothing was too much trouble for them. They always had a smile, and we also appreciated the fact that most spoke excellent English as to our shame we speak little Italian. The public rooms were lovely. Bedrooms were small and perhaps a little dated but were immaculately clean although rather too hot for our liking (an air con was not working) Bathroom a bit cramped but certainly no skimping on towels and toiletries!Breakfast was awesome- so much variety! We only had one real complaint- when we were awoken from a deep sleep at 2 am by a phone call to say someone had complained about all the noise coming from our room (well I know my husband snores a bit, but....!) It turned out to be people on the floor below. We did think the night staff should have checked it out before ringing what turned out to be the wrong room. Anyway the following morning our complaint was taken very seriously and with such courtesy, and some compensation given, that we felt we had been treated very fairly. Other than that the hotel was nice and quiet. There is a very good little restaurant (La Primula) less than a 2 minute walk away (came recommended by hotel staff) with excellent food and good prices by Milan standards. The receptionist suggested she book ahead for us, and it was as well she did as the place was full. We would certainly recommend this hotel, although if any of your party has mobility issues, bear in mind it is not city centre and you are in for a long walk or a possible struggle with trams/buses/underground.
