We enjoyed great hospitality and attention to our needs. The rooms were in great condition and the hotel was close to many conveniences including the Central Rail Station and the underground
transportation system..

The single over-riding memory of our stay in Hotel Berna was the buffet breakfast spread. Milan was the first leg of our holiday, and we had subsequently traveled to Venice, Bologna, Florence, Chianti and Rome; but little did we know then that the breakfast served at the rest of the hotels could not hold a candle to Hotel Berna.

Close (very) to the train station, we were also able to walk easily to the Duomo and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

We recently stayed at Hotel Berna for 3 nights over a long weekend away to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

We arrived at the train station by coach from the airport and found the hotel really easily. It is literally 5 mins walk down the road from the station. Excellent location for exploring the city as the main train station also has two of the metro lines running through it so it was always easy to jump on the metro to visit another part of the city. We also decided to do a day trip to Lake Como and this is one reason why we chose this hotel - it was so easy to jump on a train at the station and when we arrived back after a long day's exploring it was nice to just have a 5 min walk back to the comfort of our beds :)

We were staying in a room in the other tower building so had to cross over the road in the morning to go for breakfast but this really wasn't a problem it is literally a few feet over the road from the main hotel building. Our room was spotless and came with complimetary biscuits, a well stocked mini bar (re-filled daily), slippers, towels, tea and coffe making facilities. The maid service was excellent too, nicely cleaned room and bed made daily as you would expect. The room had air conditioning which was essential as the temps topped 30 degrees daily - the thing we liked is that they did not turn the air con off at any time. We could leave it running during the day so that the room was lovely and cool when we returned, we could also keep it running over night so we had a good sleep every night. The only time we heard noise was when the doors were being banged but other than that we did not get disturbed by anyone else staying in the hotel.

We would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family (in fact I already have to a lady who we met on the train to Lake Como!). The staff were so friendly and eager to help when we wanted information, even finding out the weather forecast for our day to Lake Como to ensure that we went when the weather was good!

If you are visiting the city for a weekend or even want a base to explore more of Italy then we would highly recommend this hotel to you.

The hotel is near perfect. It's location is very near the Metro Station and within walking distance from the Central Station. The only issue I have is having to cross to the other building every morning, for breakfast, as our room is situated across it. Nevertheless, I will recommend Hotel Berna for the extraordinary service the whole staff gives specially the breakfast crew. Thank you guys!

My wife and I stayed only 1 night here on our way to Bergamo. The location for us was perfect being only a couple of hundred yards from the Central Station. It is also easy to reach the main shopping area and the Duomo as there is the Metro close by but you can also walk in around 20 minutes.
The hotel is good value, clean and we found the staff very friendly and helpful. Especially the barman who told us where to beware of pickpockets! Our room was of average size and could be considered similar to many good big city hotels. The air conditioning was very efficient which was welcome as the weather was hot. We could not get internet access in our room but for 1 night this did not bother us as it was easily available in the lobby area.
The breakfast, as mentioned in other reviews, was very good though the dining area was very busy and hot when we went. Coffee was exceptional but then this is Italy.
We were in a room on the ground floor which was fine for us travelling as a couple. If I, or my wife, was travelling alone I would not have been so happy with this. Something for solo travellers maybe to check in advance.
All in all we felt this hotel was a good choice and we would certainly return.

Room Tip: If you are a solo traveller you may want to ensure you are not booked in to a ground floor room.

We had a lovely three night stay. The room was pretty small, but clean. The breakfast is, as mentioned, one of the best around. We needed another place to stay in August as Berna is closed and found that other hotels were cheaper but looked just as nice. Probably worth paying extra for a clean, small room and a big breakfast, but I'm not 100% sure.

I liked Hotel Berna because the location was very good. It was right next to the metro and easy to find and then get around the city. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is a value hotel for travelers on a budget. I believe everything in the mini-bar was complimentary. You really had a feeling of being welcome by the staff and just a good feeling I guess..
