“Great location”
Reviewed 30 May 2013

I selected this hotel after reading other reviews and I am happy I did. I was here on business but did a lot of sightseeing as well. The location could not have been better: Just across from the Central Train Station. At the station you can take the Metro to see the Duomo (1.5 Euro each way) or the Hop On Hop Off bus (bought my 48 hour pass in the hotel. The stop is directly in front of the train station across the street and to the left as you exit the hotel lobby) or the bus that will take you directly to the airport for 10 Euros (I paid 90 Euros to get from the airport to the hotel by taxi-- the bus was just as fast and safe) the stop is right across the hotel and they leave every 10 or 20 minutes 24 hours/day.
The hotel room was good but needs updating of the fabrics. Housekeeping did a great job by adding a fresh linen to the headboard and 'good night' mat on the floor at the bed. Mini bar was free but sparse: 1 each: water, sparkling water, beer and Pepsi; 2 crackers and a small box of peanuts-- but these all came in handy and happy they were free.
The morning breakfast was very good: scrambled eggs, lots of meat choices, fresh fruit and breads. But beware that this is a so good that it is very busy so I recommend getting in as early as possible to avoid the crowd as this hotel seems to cater to large tour groups that all need to leave at once. With this large breakfast I was able to put lunch off until quite late and avoid dinner a couple nights.
Only negative I have to report (and was warned by other reviewers so I was ready) is the hard bed and pillows. I got used to it and even felt a bit better after the firm nights sleep. But I was very happy to get to my own temperpedic bed once I got home.

Great location directly opposite the main railway station. Hotel layout and decor is not modern (guess '70s) but everything appears well maintained. Only ate breakfast but the choice was excellent and high quality. Slightly pricey but for the central location in Milan its probably not too bad

Michelangelo Hotel Milan was easily locate from the left exit of central station. The red tall building just opposite the taxi stand. Was able to check in as early as 12pm.Room was clean and spacious although furnished with old furniture and decoration.Bathroom was spacious and clean too, everything came in 'pair,2 toilet bowel and even 2 basin. Provided free mini bar and snacks too. Wifi connection was fast for normal surfing.
Breakfast was fantastic! But not as delicious as expected. Variety of hot and cold dishes, fruit, pastries, drink etc...
Enjoy my stay at Michelangelo Hotel Milan.

We have been on the road for 6 weeks and this is the best 4-start we have found thus far. Wonderful location with 1 minute walk from the Central station. As you exit on the stations left side the hotel is right in front of you. The station gives you easy access to bus, tram and metro/subway for various day trips. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and the staff were very friendly , courteous and helpful in all ways. You will love the breakfast buffet ( included in room price) and it will provide a variety of hot and cold food for any taste. The Internet wifi was free and worked smoothly. The rooms were comfortable and ours has a jacuzzi. The hotel is very quiet. One small but appreciated feature was the free Mini-bar which gives you several bottles of water and two cans of soda. This hotel seems to want to please its customers and it shows very well. We certainly recommend highly and will definitely stay here again. Request a room on higher floor (ours was on 15th ) and you will have a nice view of Milan as well as mountains in the distance on the Station side. Enjoy.

It was nice as always, but the problem was the wifi internet connection if the room. I comlained but the answer was : is better to come to lobby, connection there is faster!
Finally next day I used wifi code of upper floor and it worked really fast!!
Food was excellent!

We travelled by train from Switzerland to Venice and decided to stay over in Milan, as we had to get a connecting train there. This turned out to be an excellent choice.
Although the hotel is only one block away from Milan Central Station, we experienced it as a quiet hotel
Upon our arrival at reception, we were welcomed by Marina in a friendly way. Check-in was done in a fast and efficient way. We were also informed that the items in our mini bar were complimentary, and that we would find a dinner discount voucher in our room for their classy 'Il David Ristorante'.
Lilo assisted us with our luggage in a helpful and friendly way.
The room was neat, clean, very spacious and stylish. It also had a very nice bathroom that included a jacuzzi bath
The stocked complimentary mini bar contained quite a few drinks and snacks.
We were impressed to discover that the curtains were drawn electrically, from a bedside switch.
Free internet was also provided.
We decided to make use of their discount offer and enjoyed a true Italian dinner at the IL David Restaurant
This hotel provides an excellent complimentary breakfast with various choices of cold and hot buffet dishes.
We found the staff very friendly and helpful. Connie and Reyad assisted us in a very friendly way to determine the ingredients of some dishes, as my wife is allergic to food containing pork.
After we had checked out, we had some time available before boarding our connecting train, and spent some time relaxing at the IL David Restaurant Bar. Again we were attended to by a very friendly and helpful Connie

We have been travelling the world for quite a few years, and have stayed at many hotels.
This Michelangelo Hotel was experienced as a very classy hotel, and one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed at.
If you visit Milan, do not look any further than this hotel.

I booked this hotel for its location adjacent to the Milan Central Station, and proximity to the Metro station for siteseeing inthe Centre of Milan. The hotel is literally across the road from the station, and we could see it from our room on the 6th floor. That said, it was also very quiet.
They serve an amazing breakfast, including a healthy section. There was everything you could possibly desire and more. The basic tariff came with lots of freebies: good wifi internet, bathrobes, minibar and so on. Thr room was spacious and well appointed, with electronic drapes that had us fooled the first night.
I would definitely recommend the Michelangelo for anyone visiting Milan.

Room Tip: I don't think there are any bad rooms.
