This was our first stop on this year's trip. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station, which is ideal since the Malpensa shuttle from the airport stops there. The room was a little outdated; however, the staff and included breakfast were great. It's also not a bad walk to the main sights.

at the time of visit, franciscan was manager and surpurb,he gave us the best resturants to go to and travel advise, also which trains and stops going to portofino for the day. The whole staff were great, friendly, rooms were very modern and well equipped and clean...train station walking distance and takes you to airport stop. Great memories.

Room Tip: Higher rooms, ice view, also rooftop.

We stayed at the hotel for one night on our way home because of early flight from Malpensa.
It is just a perfect location for discovering the city for a reasonable price. Breakfast was fine, wifi was fast and free of charge. Shuttle bus station to all airports are just across the road, few meters further you are at the central station and subway.
Only disappointment was a bar where I was charged 9 euro for a simple ice cream even without any dressing.
I would stay there again but would never go to their overprised bar...

Room Tip: The higher floor you get the better you sleep

Stayed here for one night during a very brief stay in Milan. Very close to the Central station. Efficient and friendly service. Excellent food in the restaurant and surprisingly reasonable. Room was on the fourteenth floor, very clean, spacious and comfortable. The downside was that we weren't there long enough.

Spent one night during our trip in Milan. This hotel is an excellent choice for city visit: Location right next to the main railway station but price was more than reasonable and breakfast included. Room (12th floor) was quiet although the environment is noisy and very clean. The only downside was that there were no power plugs next to the bedside table and no extension cords available from the reception. Breakfast was very good although really busy and a bit crammed.

This hotel will definitely be my choice when back in Milan.

For our last two nights in Italy in July 2014, we stayed at the Michelangelo Hotel in Milan. I chose it because of its reasonable price (for Milan--150 euros), great location (steps away from the Milano Centrale train station--you can see it when you step out of the station), and good reviews. We were not disappointed. All the workers at the front desk were professional (as opposed to friendly) and spoke good English. One thing to note (which shocked us): they said our hotel room number out loud in a busy lobby (and we were two women travelling)--we are used to more privacy than that. (They also asked aloud for our hotel room number in the busy breakfast room.) We took the elevator up to the non-smoking sixth floor. The room did not smell of smoke! (The hallway did on our second night, though.) The room was large and modern. The air-conditioning was great! Closet was roomy. Nice work desk. Wifi was also great--you have to have the TV on for it to work (but you can mute it)! Got lots of English channels on the TV (CNN, CNBC, BBC, France 24 English, Bloomberg) + lots of other channels--we watched the World Cup, The room has a free minibar/fridge (ours contained an orange drink, a can of Pepsi, a bottle of still water, and a bottle of fizzy water) and a variety of snacks (candy sugared orange wedges, peanuts, butter cookies), The lighting in the room was OK. The bathroom was large with good amenities. Our bathroom had a whirlpool tub, and I tried it on the first night (worked using the provided bath salts, but I don't see the appeal). [This was the only tub we had on our entire trip!] Our favorite thing was the AMAZING breakfast buffet, containing nearly anything you could think of (other than cooked-to-order eggs): tons of fruit choices (including kiwi and strawberries), good scrambled eggs, various hot dishes, sliced meats, cheeses, yogurts, pastries, toast (although they need to only have the [non-visible] sliced bread near the toaster, not the [visible] other breads--watch the breakfast workers scold all the guests using the toaster for breakfast entertainment!), a fresh-orange-juice-squeezing machine (so fun!), and good coffee. (It reminded us of the breakfasts we had at our tour hotels in China.) We were also able to print our boarding passes for free from their three guest Internet terminals. A couple of other cons of the hotel: beds are only OK (not too firm, not soft), the drinking water spigot in the bathroom did not look clean, and in our bathroom, the toilet was right behind the door (very tight). Another note: tourist tax is 5 euros per person per day. Milan's tourist appeal is very limited (we were done with sight-seeing in about 5 hours), but if I had to return to Milan, I would stay at this hotel.

Spent one night in the Michelangelo Hotel in Milan. Hotel was quite average. When we were checking out, my purse with 3 passports, ipad, iphone money and credit cards was stolen in the lobby of the hotel. The person at the front desk refused to call the police. She sent us on a wild goose chase to the Milan train station to find the police. Makes one wonder who was involved. I have been to Italy many times, but this was quite an eye-opener on how the system works there.
