The location of the hotel is across from the central train station which is ideal for getting around Milan and for getting trains to Venice or Lake Como or any other destinations. The front desk staff was less than helpful, but the rest of the staff was very nice. The breakfast was very good. The rooms are spacious, quiet, with blackout curtains. There is a small refrigerator in the room which contains complimentary bottles of water and some snacks. Overall this hotel is an exceptional value for the money. We booked it through an internet site and got a price which was reasonable for Milan. Having stayed in several other hotels in Milan in the past years I know what a find this one is.

All in all, well-suited to a business traveler with a decent bathroom and workable desk in a great location.
I have been staying at the Michelangelo for 10 years now. Not much has changed: same desk staff, concierges, and bellmen. Great location close to Central train station, airport buses, and subway lines. The rooms are simple and small but clean. Color scheme is orange carpet with coordinating drapes and bed cover. Some rooms are acid green color scheme. Both very 70’s. Firm bed and pillows. Bathroom is dark granite vanity with a large Jacuzzi tub/shower stall. Then there is a built in Scandinavian-style wood/glass desk with good lighting which also holds a very small TV and underneath is a dorm-sized refrigerator stocked with a few sodas and waters plus 2 candy bars. Everything in this mini-bar is free with the room, as are a few cookies and a pack of peanuts. Never seen this for free elsewhere. They have Wifi for a fee in the lobby which is intermittent and slow. In the bar just off the lobby they have a mezzanine where you can plug your laptop into the hotel internet connection using their cable and get a faster connection for free. A breakfast buffet comes free with every room and it is huge: eggs, fruit, cereal, meats, pasta, breads, fresh squeezed OJ, and cappuccinos made to order (or whatever else you want to drink).

Great hotel and only one of five we stayed in in Italy that had large rooms. and appear to be recently redone. Friendly and helpful staff, immacculate rooms. Beautifylly furnished rooms. And less than two minutes from the train staion. Easy to get to most sightseeing places via the metro which has a stop at the train station. If you are coming into milan from an overseas flight, it is perfect. you can take the train to the staion from the airport. Get off the train and within five minutes you are at the hotel where you can collapse in comfort after a long flight.

Stayed here as part of a group attending a conference. It is close to the main station (literally across the road) and hence two of the Metro lines - it takes about ten minutes to get to the Duomo. I didn't feel too comfortable after dark, though there is a really lovely bar on a corner facing the station, near the hotel.

The rooms are ok, though slightly drab and outdated in look. There is a trouser-press and the usual hotel hairdryer in the bathroom: there is also a card stating that irons and hairdryers cannot be used in the rooms (one of my fellow-travellers made the mistake of asking for an iron, having not seen the note) - guaranteed to alienate most female travellers.

Breakfasts are good. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms (but no banning notice for kettles that I could see.....!)

The absence of wifi in the rooms is a pain: there is (charged) Vodafone wifi in the lobby, (free) slow desktop and (free) fast broadband connection for people with laptops in the bar. For some reason, there is a sign-in and sign-out sheet for this - a rather officious woman got stroppy when I didn't realise this (she spoke English with a strong New York accent - presumably that's where she acquired her people skills). Fortunately, all the other staff were very pleasant.

The Michelangelo Hotel is very comfortable and the other reviews on here are very thorough and accurate, although no one seems to mention the lack of internet access. They have 4 computers in the bar area that work of a 56k connection (no speedy enough for me to check-in online for my return flight) and that is all, unbelievably!

If you are a business traveller then I would not recommend this hotel.

Food was excellent, rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean, you even have electric curtains and a button that unlocks your room door next to the toilet... for some reason! But lack of internet access is astonishing; they need to sort it out quickly.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. The hotel room was spacious, clean and very comfortable with lots of mod cons, including a jacuzzi bath, air con and even electrically operated curtains!! Hotel is in an excellent location, just a stones throw away from Stazione Centrale. We found the Metro an excellent way of getting around and was excellent value, at just 3 euros for a day's travel. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Being two 22 year old femaies we found the room decor was very old fashion.

I didn't quite feel that i was in a four star hotel.

The internet pictures were quite decieving.

The buffet breakfast had a large variety of hot and cold foods.

The rooms and bathrooms were quite spacious.

It offers free internet, however they only have 4 computers and the connection speed is very slow.
