“Convenient, Comfortable, Cosmopolitain”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2009

This hotel is conveniently located across from the Central Train Station in Milan, which gives easy access to the Lakes Region and also other sections of Milan via subway. It is a modern, comfortable hotel with ample amenities for the business or leisure traveller. The desk is large enough to hunker down and get to work. The minibar has the most delicious white chocolate hazlenut candy bars. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast is fantastic. I have stayed here once a year for the past 5 years and the staff always remembers my name when I arrive! I wouldn't even think about staying somewhere else.

What a great hotel! It is just across the street from the main station so location is perfect if coming by train or with the airport shuttle. The check in was fast and efficient. The room was absolutely marvelous, very modern and with all the facilities that you could want- the bathroom even had a Jacuzzi! Though not big, the room is still very spacious given the location and the price. Breakfast was also very nice. There are many restaurants in walking distance of the hotel. There is also free high speed internet.

This hotel is extremely close to the train station and extremely stylish, you feel you are in a movie from the 60's. Breakfast was also very good. We enjoyed staying here very much!

This hotel was very nice and situated close to the central train station (which also has the metro). While there isn't much in terms of restaurants near the hotel, we just took the metro to see the sights and ate while we were there. We only stayed in Milan one full day (that's all you really need), and we were pleased with the hotel. There is a bar and a restaurant in the hotel, but very expensive. We were impressed with the wonderful breakfast the hotel provides.

A good quality hotel with excellent facilities. Good sized room and very comfortable. Mini bar free for soft drinks and snacks - very impressed.

Good safe locking room for leaving our cases and great position when travelling into Milan by train.

Milan was good - but they rip you off with the drinks if you go in the cafes right by the hotel.

The location of the hotel is across from the central train station which is ideal for getting around Milan and for getting trains to Venice or Lake Como or any other destinations. The front desk staff was less than helpful, but the rest of the staff was very nice. The breakfast was very good. The rooms are spacious, quiet, with blackout curtains. There is a small refrigerator in the room which contains complimentary bottles of water and some snacks. Overall this hotel is an exceptional value for the money. We booked it through an internet site and got a price which was reasonable for Milan. Having stayed in several other hotels in Milan in the past years I know what a find this one is.

All in all, well-suited to a business traveler with a decent bathroom and workable desk in a great location.
I have been staying at the Michelangelo for 10 years now. Not much has changed: same desk staff, concierges, and bellmen. Great location close to Central train station, airport buses, and subway lines. The rooms are simple and small but clean. Color scheme is orange carpet with coordinating drapes and bed cover. Some rooms are acid green color scheme. Both very 70’s. Firm bed and pillows. Bathroom is dark granite vanity with a large Jacuzzi tub/shower stall. Then there is a built in Scandinavian-style wood/glass desk with good lighting which also holds a very small TV and underneath is a dorm-sized refrigerator stocked with a few sodas and waters plus 2 candy bars. Everything in this mini-bar is free with the room, as are a few cookies and a pack of peanuts. Never seen this for free elsewhere. They have Wifi for a fee in the lobby which is intermittent and slow. In the bar just off the lobby they have a mezzanine where you can plug your laptop into the hotel internet connection using their cable and get a faster connection for free. A breakfast buffet comes free with every room and it is huge: eggs, fruit, cereal, meats, pasta, breads, fresh squeezed OJ, and cappuccinos made to order (or whatever else you want to drink).
