This is a very old fashioned hotel, in several ways. The rooms are in a terrible greenish color, the shower is barely big enough for one. The beds are surprisingly enough pretty comfortable.
The "Continental" breakfast consists of white bread and croissants, and if you're lucky, and get up early enough, you might get some ham and cheese.
But the biggest issue with this hotel, is that no one (with the exception of the managers son, if you're lucky enough to run into him) speaks english; everything is in Italian. You can repeat yourself all you want, but these people are stubborn to the bone. They will not help you. Unless you speak Italian.

And when you check out, be sure to have an extra 18 euros to pay for the "tourist tax".

The hotel is overall really good! It is cheap, less then 2 minute away from metro, and breakfast is really ok.
I don't know how would I found the adress withouth GPS in my car though.
For such a small price it would be unreasonable to expect more from hotel, so I would say it is great.
I've seen some rewievs for this hotel before, most were good, few were negative, but I know those people with negative comments for sure haven't traveled a lot, becouse if they were, they would know that in such a big city it is not possible to find luxury they expect anywhere in the world.
I've been from China to England everywhere, and I can say this little hotel is good value for money.
Only you should know that when you check out you must pay some kind of tax, but this is normal for every hotel. you count the number of stars with number of nights. for example 3 star hotel x 2 nights is 6 euro for one person!

I stayed here May 2013 for 1 night.
I could be kind and say this place need a refurb, but the truth is it needs to be bulldozed and rebuilt....somewhere else.
The corridors are dirty and smelly. The bedroom was tiny and the sheets were very old. Bathroom light did not work, no shower curtain (water everywhere), the air con did not work (hotel receptionist told me to open window...there is a motorway outside !!) and the phone did not work.
We did not have breakfast as the hotel was so dirty I did not trust the kitchen hygiene standards.
The internet was 10 euros to use.
Ok yes it is close to the metro, 5 minute walk, but you have to go through two graffito covered underpasses, we were very scared as to who we might meet. Whilst having a meal in Milan I was thinking about the dreadful walk back to the hotel, it spoilt the evening.
The hotel car park is a cut through for locals, some very suspicious looking people.
Please spend a bit more money and find a better and safer hotel.

Room tip: Find another hotel.

I stayed at this hotel as my daughter was going to the local uni,and it was near by.I found most of Milan very built up and covered in graffiti and this location is no exception, it is however fairly safe and i had no problems. The hotel is fairly basic but i found it friendly and clean, breakfast was pleasant as was the staff, the room was clean and tidy and for the price was what i expected. This hotel was a little out of Milan but by the tube we had no problem getting to all parts of Milan and is ok for a short cheap break.

It's hard to get a reasonably priced hotel in Milan. Hotel dei Fiori is good value for money considering it is only 10 mins on the metro into the historic centre. The room was fine with well stocked minibar. Breakfast was good - plenty to choose from. All staff we encountered were polite and friendly. The telephone not working and a problem with the door key were both attended to immediately.
The hotel is in a residential area but it was very quiet. There is traffic noise if you want your window open. While the 5 min walk from the metro station to the hotel is via graffiti ridden underpasses it is well lit and, even returning late at night, we did not feel unsafe.
