After spending a hot Sunday afternoon shopping in central Milan, we stumbled by chance upon this pleasant park. It proved to be a nice spot to take a much needed rest from lots of walking, in the cool shade of large, luxuriant trees.
There were plenty of park benches available for seating or you could choose a spot on one of many grassed area to stretch out. Even late in the afternoon, the park was busy with people involved in a range of activities. There were athletes jogging, cyclists riding their bikes, children playing, sun lovers sun-bathing and couples canoodling.
One mildly annoying aspect of our visit occurred when a young fellow approached us, attempting to sell bunches of flowers. He refused to take "no" for an answer. Eventually, he gave up trying to sell us flowers and began begging for money from us, instead. Finally he got the message that he wasn't going to get any money out of us and he moved on to try his luck elsewhere. It was an annoyance that we could have done without, whilst we were attempting to have a rest!
Whilst we only had time to explore a small part of the park, it was obvious that as a large, open, green area with a water feature, other facilities and it's central location in the heart of the city, it is certainly a valuable asset to the residents of, and visitors to the city of Milan.

Right in the centre of milan, complete with rivers, waterfalls, gazebos, rock climbing, botanical garden and once even a zoo!

there is always a good atmosphere there, for people of all ages and social strands. Far from the welcoming Anglo-Saxon green carpets, it stil has a beautiful, mysterious neo-classical architecture, a perfect place for a never monotonous stroll, a chat or meditation.

We'd heard great things about Parc Sempionne but actually preferred this one! It was lovely to walk around in the evenings, very calm, tranquil and beautiful - with a nice atmosphere as well. Very green, plenty of space and benches to chill on, and a bar in the middle in case you need extra relaxation.

A lovely park. Free entrance to the museums that border on to it during August. There are lovely stone benches under the trees in the park - wide enough and long enough to stretch out on with a book. A good place to buy refreshments in the centre but the loos are best to be avoided. Lots and lots of dogs!
