After spending a hot Sunday afternoon shopping in central Milan, we stumbled by chance upon this pleasant park. It proved to be a nice spot to take a much needed rest from lots of walking, in the cool shade of large, luxuriant trees.
There were plenty of park benches available for seating or you could choose a spot on one of many grassed area to stretch out. Even late in the afternoon, the park was busy with people involved in a range of activities. There were athletes jogging, cyclists riding their bikes, children playing, sun lovers sun-bathing and couples canoodling.
One mildly annoying aspect of our visit occurred when a young fellow approached us, attempting to sell bunches of flowers. He refused to take "no" for an answer. Eventually, he gave up trying to sell us flowers and began begging for money from us, instead. Finally he got the message that he wasn't going to get any money out of us and he moved on to try his luck elsewhere. It was an annoyance that we could have done without, whilst we were attempting to have a rest!
Whilst we only had time to explore a small part of the park, it was obvious that as a large, open, green area with a water feature, other facilities and it's central location in the heart of the city, it is certainly a valuable asset to the residents of, and visitors to the city of Milan.
