“Didn't give an impression of 4 star hotel”
Reviewed 2 January 2012

I was disappointed right after entering the lobby. It seemed cold and unwelcoming.
The room was even worse. After reading such great reviews I expected much more. The room interior was quite used and it wasn't cleaned properly. There was a lot of dust everywhere. The same in the bathroom. The only nice area of the hotel was dining (restaurant) place and the bathrooms beside it. The overall impression was of 3 star hotel.
I found a few places in the area. One of the best restaurant I've eaten was Al Valentino restaurant just 5 min. away. Also a few deli cafes around wiht very tasty pastries.

The hotel is about half an hour on the tram to the centre of MIlan. Got off to a bad start by booking a family apartment that was too small to be comfortable for 3 and which was situated away from the main building, through a series of charmless service passageways. The apartment itself was situated a few metres from an apartment block where mega-decibel balcony repairs woke us early.
However... overall we liked the hotel. The particularly charming staff moved us to 2 rooms in the main building for our next two nights and gave us breakfast for the next two days as well. They gave us a great local recommendation for dinner too - Al Valentino. The rooms were decorated in smart minimalist style, clean and in first rate condition. The breakfasts were far better than the rather sad Italian breakfast buffets I've had in similarly priced hotels. The hotel has a quirky Japanese theme to it. The gym is surprisingly small for such a large hotel, but no-one seemed to use it except for my son and I.

Room Tip: I would not advise the family apartments, if apt 10 is representative of the others.

A typical business hotel so visiting as a tourist felt a little odd but the staff were friendly, the room comfortable and the number 1 tram to the city centre stopped just outside. There didn't seem to be much in the area and the tram takes at least twenty minutes so not a good choice if you want to be right in the centre of things or are looking for a bit of character. It was also very expensive for what it was but then w made the mistake of visiting Milan during fashion week so maybe the prices were higher than usual.

The Enterprise is very modern with a courteous staff, comfortable beds, nice linen, and a very clean and new bathroom. Our room was on the smaller side, which is our only complaint. We got a good online deal that included a very delicious and large hot breakfast buffet (including omelets and waffles to order), and free secure garage parking right in the hotel (normally 18euro/day). The tram stop was right outside the hotel and it was an easy 10min ride into the center of the city. You can buy a 24h metro/tram pass for 3,50 euro/pp (at the tabaccheria nextdoor) which was such a great deal--the transportation system in Milano is extensive and very easy to use. It was worth it for us driving our own car, to stay a little outside the center, have secured parking, not have to navigate driving downtown, and take the tram to the main piazza.

Last month I returned to the Enterprise Hotel on a business trip, having remembered a very pleasant vacation stay there over five years ago. While it has aged a bit, it remains an incredible value. The room is spacious enough; the hotel's style is contemporary but not glitzy; the staff is helpfu; and the location on Sempione is a block from the trolley for a pleasant trip to central city sites. Down Sempione a few blocks is also one of the best mozarella stores in the city.

I am currently staying at another hotel. it is old-school, not without its chams, and its spartan bed is actually a bit more comfortable than the ones at the Enterprise. For my money, however the Enterprise can't be beat.

Good points: Immaculate, clean and modern hotel with sizeable and nicely decorated rooms. Very professional and pleasant staff. Good restaurant/bar within the hotel.
Reasonably easily accessed by car (avoids the main centre) and they have parking facilities under the hotel, although limited number of spaces.

Poor points: Tend to have many functions at the hotel and the bar/restaurant can be noisy at times. Proximity to centre of Milan. Booking needs to made well in advance as quite a popular place.

Room was comfortable and clean. Their happy hour on Thursday nights is so fun...delicious nibbles and a free drink. Staff was professional. Tram was across the street. Easy to get around.

Room Tip: Choose a high room for quiet. One with windows overlooking the garden is very nice. The breakfast...
