“poor quality, high price”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2011

old hotel, thin walls and rather much noise from neighbour rooms, not very friendly staff at reception, simple breakfast, rather high price compared to quality, definitely not four star standard

The hotel is a bit old-fashioned but within walking distance to all the main attractions, so ideal really. Staff are friendly and buffet breakfast is enough to keep you going checking out the sights of Milan. Coffee (as you would expect in Italy) is great ...

Four stars - don't believe! We stayed weekend at the hotel Lloyd. Staff was impolite, room was plain, after shower bathroom floor was full of water, breakfast finnised before all guests got it.... good thing was location, hotel was near Duomo and La Scala.
But if you are looking for good hotel choose another. We were very dissapointed.

The rooms are very cozy and quiet, which is a blessing after coming in from MXP. The breakfast that comes with the room is very good. The desk people are very helpful and friendly.
It's a good hotel. You can take the metro (Missori to Duomo stop). You can also walk. Turn left out the front door, walk up the street to the little piazza. Take the dog-leg to the left and keep walking. You'll see the spires and the church is on your right. Enjoy.

Located within walking distance of the centre, but you would better advised to use the good metro service. A two day pass in 8 Euro. As noted before there isn't much of interest in the area of the hotel itself.

Rooms were clean and for a budget city hotel quite large. However, note that Milan is an expensive city for hotels so I paid 120 Euro for something which would be much cheaper in most places. Breakfast was very poor: ham and cheese of the lowest quality and what tasted like sweetened orange juice. Coffee took a very long time to arrive. Shame as food in Italy is normally so good.

WIFI is 5 Euro per hour, which I think is a rip-off. I like to listen to the radio over the internet at night, but not at that price.

I summary I didn't hate it, but would try and find something better next time I visit.

Languages: staff spoke English fluently.
AC: no problems.
Bathroom: good, no problems.
Wifi: it worked well but requires time limited codes you have to buy.
Location: walking distance to Duomo, although not super close. Train station is definitely not walkable with luggage. Taking the subway will get you there in a few minutes however. For us, the location worked out well enough for a short stay.
Breakfast: very good breakfast.
Elevator: normal elevator to any floor you could be on.
Misc: I don't remember any problems

The hotel is really close to the main attractions and is easily accessed by metro or tram. There is also a bus stop just behind the corner, where you can get a city-sightseeing bus tour. Except the excellent location, there is nothing special about the hotel. The rooms are small and even though it was not a problem for me, I haven`t noticed any reason to rank this hotel more than a tree stars one. However, considering the reasonable price and the great location, I think it is a good starting point to explore the city and would stay there again.
