I had read a lot about the hotel on Tripadvisor and decided to stay here with my wife during our visit to Milan. The hotel is conveniently located being very close to Milano Centrale as well as from Duomo but the room was very small. There wasn't even enough space to open a medium sized suitcase, keep crockery in which the in-room dining food was served, etc. The room size leaves a lot to be desired. The rooms and the bath/toilet are tastefully painted which does not give them a feel of a proper hotel. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was overall calm and peaceful. It also offers a small bar and a patio where you can sit and sip coffee in the evenings. It is well set up and lit and we loved it.

Staff was extremely helpful and patient. Food including breakfast was good though the spread was limited. Decent value for money but had expected more.

We stayed in the Hotel Sanpi in November, 2012, and got a special rate of 82 euros a night; that may have been why we were put on the floor that had deep blue hallways and shiny floors. The rooms were lovely and comfortable, the staff was terrific and willing to make restaurant reservations at the drop of a hat, and the breakfast (included in the room price) was delicious and provided a wide choice of foods. It's actually quite a walk from the Stazione Centrale as far as I'm concerned, if you're dragging a wheeled bag over the uneven sidewalks in the rain, and the neighborhood isn't beautiful, but the hotel itself is very nice-looking and very much worth the walk.

Room Tip: Ask for the floor that has the dark blue hallways because the rooms there are very comfortable.

This hotel is within walking distance from Centrale station and has another metro stop nearer it. Just 3 stops away from Duomo on the same metro line, it is a convenient place to stay. The rooms were a little old, and the breakfast selection slightly limited. Otherwise, it was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurants are available near the hotel also.

Within easy walking distance of Stazione Centrale, the Sanpi hotel has friendly, helpful staff and a relaxed atmosphere. The room was nicely furnished with an excellent bathroom, comfortable beds and lots of storage. The buffet breakfast was great with a wide choice of food and drink. There is a small bar, where we watched some football on TV, and also a pretty courtyard garden with tables and chairs - if the weather was nicer we would have eaten our breakfast outside.

The hotel has a luggage storage facility, so on the day of check out we were able to collect it later in the day. They seemed to have thought of just about everything to make things easy for guests - the reception desk is manned all the time, so there's always someone to ask.

The Metro is a few minutes walk away, and there are some excellent restaurants in the area. Milan is a lovely city, and we would be very happy to stay again at this excellent hotel.

Very pleasant hotel, friendly helpful staff. Our corner room was lovely and airy with opening windows on both sides. Plenty of space to move around in our room & everything was very clean.
Breakfast was delicious,a beautiful spread with plenty of everything. We chose to eat breakfast out in the quiet courtyard which was less hectic than the busy restaurant.
Bit of a long walk from the train station dragging our cases, we should have taken the metro.
Loved the Sunday market in adjacent Tunisia Street.
Also bought an excellent takeaway pizza across the road for E10.
To get in and out of the central area we used the nearby metro train.

We only stayed for 3 nights and found the hotel staff extremely helpful and courteous,we were in a standard room but it was very clean lovely bed linen and towels all of which were changed daily. The breakfast bar and the quality of food good. We did find it noisy on the Friday night partly due to the club opposite which seemed to be open all hours, and the rain it just poured all night and the following day, however we did achieve all we had set out to do and found the Metro excellent.

Room Tip: If we went again we would select a room on the other side of the corridor.

My wife & I stayed here on a week-end break. Hotel Sanpi is first rate. We were in a standard room which, although not spacious, was clean and well equipped, with a number of interesting and original touches. The towels etc. were of very good quality.
The breakfast room and the food itself were also excellent.
We arrived at Central Station on the Malpensa shuttle and the walk to the hotel is reasonable, provided one has little luggage.
We had only two complaints:-
my wife considered the hair drier to be under-powered; and
it rained more or less continuously throughout our stay!
In this latter regard, another advantage of Hotel Sanpi is that it is only a few metres from the excellent Trattoria Il Carpaccio. Both are in a neighbourhood which, although not threatening, does not match the hotel's 4-star status.
