“IMPRESSIVE! A MUST-SEE in Milan!”
Reviewed 14 April 2012

It has exceeded my expectations by far. The fortress itself is an amazing frame to an even better interior. Pieces of architecture, sculpture, weaponry, armour, aesthetically appealing frescoes among them the remarkable tree-tops vault of Leonardo da Vinci ! as well as smaller expositions (like the one of musical instruments) ...all that at a very fair entrance price! A great deal and absolutely worth it! Check the opening times. For example the one of the museum of musical instruments.

“Amazing ...”
Reviewed 14 April 2012

Our children loved this place - many museums within - loads of things to interest the kids (especially boys) including armour, weapons, egyptian artefacts, along with sculptures, tapestries etc. Let's not forget the building itself!

“Very good value indeed”
Reviewed 10 April 2012

The castle is home to numerous museums, most of which have some impressive and remarkable exhibits. One entrance fee of Euro 3 gives you access to all of them, which is extraordinarily good value.

“One of Milan's top attractions, but mind the scammers.”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

This is a huge Castle built by the Sforzas, the dukes of Milan. It is in very good condition and one the best areas to have a breath of fresh air in Milan, since it is at the end of Parco Sempione, a lovely, safe park (even at night)

You can pay a 3 Euro fee to enter the building itself, where you will find an armoury and Michelangelo's unfinished Pieta' statue. There is also a Picture gallery and an African museum of sorts but I did not have time to visit those as well.

Beware of African immigrants holding pieces of coloured string which will try to be friendly and give you a 'friendship bracelet' - i.e. the coloured strings. If you let them tie it to your hand you will be relentlessly pestered for money. Just ignore them and walk away, even if you think this is rude - do not beleive they are being friendly, they are trying to scam you. Also, do not act a good samaritan and stop someone else from taking the string - it will just get you in a confrontation.
