“Castle plus”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

To take in everything on offer will probably take the best part of a day. We visited the art exhibitions and found the porcelain section the most attractive.

“Multiple museums in one location”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

We selected the museums we wanted to see and enjoyed them which includes---the Museum of Ancient Art, the Picture Gallery, and the Museum of Decorative Arts. A lot to see in one place and enjoyed a walk around the Castle and the neighborhood.

“Lovely Park”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

The Castello Sforzesco park is well worth a visit, particularly if you have a couple of hours to spend in the centre of Milan and you want some green space/quiet. The castle museums are very extensive, but we were flagging a bit by then and didn't find them particularly interesting - its worth being selective if you visit them rather than trying to do too much. We found the paintings/sculptures less interesting here than in some other Milan museums.

The park itself is lovely for walking in, and you can enjoy the views both of the castle and the Arch of Peace at the opposite end. There's also an aquarium on the edge of the park and a neo-classical arena dating back to the early 1800s, although the latter isn't open to the public except for special events.

“Well worth visiting - loads of it is free”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

The castle is so easy to find. We were just wandering around central Milan and found it.

It is stunning from the outside and you can access huge amounts of the castle for free. The only bits you have to pay for are the museum, but you can see a lot totally free. It is very well maintained and there are signs explaining things in Italian and English.

There is also a huge parkland where you could very happily spend a day on your own, as a couple or as a family - lots to do and look at and it would be perfect for a picnic. You can take bikes, dogs etc.

The castle is vast and has lots of towers and gates etc, little boys would LOVE it.
