“Good location but overpriced and outdated”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2013

This hotel is located in a very nice neighbourhood of Milano. The rooms are decorated in a "old milanese" antique way but actualy quite outdated. We got a room with gardenview on the big airco installation that makes a lot of noice. Not very nice if you like to sleep with the windows open.

Room Tip: Take care that you get a nice room and not room 14.

We stayed at the Antica Locanda Leonardo for 1 night in July 2013. The hotel is reasonably well located on Corso Magenta, approx. a 15 minute walk to Piazza Duomo. The room was relatively small but adequate with air-conditioning. Breakfast was a continental buffet of fruit, cereals & pastries but very nice. For a short stay in Milan this hotel is fine and reasonably priced for a major city.

Room Tip: We had a twin room overlooking the garden which was nice and quite.

we stayed 2 nights in Milan. This small hotel was great. The location can't be beat - just around the corner from Leonardo daVinci's "Last Supper." It is also an easy walk to Sforza Castle, the Duomo, and other major sites in Milan. The staff is extremely friendly, and allowed us to use the facility, even after checking out (we had a late train). The breakfast is delicious, with a variety of food to choose from.

The free WiFi is unreliable, so be prepared to spend some time getting online or getting booted offline.

This hotel is in a great position for visiting Milan. It is only an easy 5 minute walk from Cadorna train staion which has an express train to Malpensa airport. The Metro and trams are also close - Though it is also a very easy 10-15 minute walk to the Duomo and main shopping areas. The area feels safe to walk in at night. The hotel is set behind secure doors and a courtyard and is very quiet. It is an older building but the rooms are very clean, comfortable and spacious with good sized bathrooms. There is a lift which is very helpful with the luggage. The staff are very friendly, helpful and speak good English. There is a bar area and breakfast room and the breakfast is very good. It is also only one minutes walk to the building where the 'Last Supper' is exhibited. I would recommend this hotel as an excellent choice for a stay in Milan.

This was a pleasant surprise for our last night of a busy journey, chosen primarily for it’s location near Cadorna station for the Malpensa Airport express train (30 mins, 10E direct to terminal 1). Being virtually next door to da Vinci’s Last Supper was a significant bonus. The hotel is a delightful oasis of calm elegance, with uniformly helpful, friendly and welcoming staff. Ground floor room was comfortably spacious with high ceilings, crisp sheets, fluffy white towels, a full size bath/bathroom and large windows overlooking a private area of garden greenery. The Sforza castle, Duomo and Galleria are all within easy 10-15 minute walk. Breakfast was only slight disappointment which could be easily improved by inclusion of more complex cereal than cornflakes only (ie. muesli), and addition of a toaster. Coffee (real espresso) was good and served with flair and a smile by the lovely Paolo. Excellent value hotel, definitely recommend. Tips: The low distant rumble/vibration of the tram which runs down the street can be heard in the room, but stops midnight – 6am. Don’t eat at ‘Trattoria Milanese’ (from the hotel’s recommendation list, and also, apparently Rick Steves’), a tourist ripoff and not good quality food. To see da Vinci’s Last Supper book a LONG way in advance (ie. months) to secure tix as they only allow 25 people each 15 minutes and tour groups appear to have booked out many sessions so tix are very scarce. It’s well worth it !

Loved the court yard entrance, which has an atmosphere of mystery! Super location, so convenient whether walking or hopping onto a tram or bus. Just around the corner from Leonardo's "Last Supper" fresco (book in advance). Warm friendly welcome, even though early!
Loved room 13 with french doors opening onto a garden patio. Unusual hotel floor plan, however, the personalized check in explains all. Delightful breakfast, staff extremely helpful especially regarding sight seeing directions and Malpensa airport train service, which is conveniently just around the corner. Nice authentic restaurants close by, walking distance. Hope to return on future travels.

We stayed here 4 nights and had a wonderfull time. This beautiful hotel is located in a relaxed and central area of milan. A 10 min. walk will take you directly to the center but you can as well jump in the tramway in front of the building or take the metro, 2 stations are very close by. Also the nightbus M1 makes going out at nights uncomplicated. For its great location (Leonardos painting of the last supper is practically next door) the prices are very reasonable.

The rooms are just adorable, clean and charming. Ours was decorated in blue baroque prints with beautiful white shabby-chic furniture, satelite TV and free and fast WIFI. The room was cleaned every day, equipped with fresh towels and soaps. Lots of fashion magazines you can take to your room to read. The staff is very friendly, funny and helpfull. On our first evening the concierge recommended a great restaurant 2 blocks away that had a nice atmosphere, great food and reasonable prices.

The breakfast is served from 7-10 am. consisting of fresh coffee, delicious croissants (all sorts vanilla, chocolate or with ham&cheese), yoghourt and a daily changing cake. Plus there is a bakery next door and a supermarket.

We had a very pleasant stay and if i ever go back to milan i would book this hotel again.
