“Good Value, Good Room and a Great Breakfast Buffet”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

Booked this as a part of this as a part of a BA package and based on TA reviews. It did not start off so well as I have an injury which makes sleeping difficult to say the least. I had contacted the hotel and asked to not be on the street side as other reviewers have said it is noisy. This would be an issue for me as once I am awake that is it for the sleeping. When we checked in they put me in a street side room. I went back to the desk and after a few minutes of explaining my problem we were moved to a court yard room. The room was very clean, large and well supplied with robes/slippers etc. There was also a turn down service which is a very nice touch. The staff very friendly went over and above to make sure your needs were met and your stay was pleasant.

One thing that stood out is the breakfast buffet - it is amazing (no egg station) with a very wide selection of foods. What truly impressed me was the fact they were still re-stocking items 15 minutes before it was do to be shut down.

My compliments to the management and staff - Milan is always my starting point in Italy and this will now be my first nights stay.

Room Tip: Try for a court yard room

Good afternoon Ms DoubleC20,

We are sorry to hear your stay did not start off well, however we would like to let you ,and everybody else who may be interested, know that all the requests are subject to availability and we are normally try to satisfy them all.

If an internal room is needed to be sure to have one, it needs to be booked as such, for instance our deluxe rooms overlook our garden, as, unfortunately, when we are fully booked, it is extremely difficult for us to give those rooms as a free upgrade.

We will definitely pass on your compliments regarding the breakfast to the Food & Beverage Manager.

Kind Regards

I stayed at the Grand Visconti Palace for a week in order to explore Milan. This is a big hotel close to the metro and only four stops to city centre. The staff were warm and welcoming, especially those at the desk and door, as well as the concierge. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated with provisions for coffee or tea. The hotel also supplied slippers and robe.
For outings, Bernie, who is in charge of Concierge and Guest Relations, was more than willing to make suggestions for outings and restaurants and will do the bookings if you so wish. I was impressed that he did not exceed his expertise when he suggested that a personal visit to the Scala Opera House for advice about ballet or opera would best meet our requirements.
On the whole, a very pleasant stay at a hotel set in beautiful gardens and providing huge breakfast as well as use of the Wellness centre. If I ever return to Milan, I would not hesitate staying at the Grand Visconti.

Good afternoon Ms Shirley B,

All of our staff is our pride and joy and we are extremely happy when our guests notice them.

Bernie is one of our star and if he suggested you to go directly to the Scala to purchase the tickets he only did that after checking the wide availability and to avoid you to pay the high commission which is normally applied from our contact.

We hope you will come back soon at the Grand Visconti Palace Hotel

Kind Regards

The rooms are big and the bed was big. The service was excellent. The breakfast was simple but nice. There is a very nice garden that you can sit quitcly and enjoy your coffee and the pool was very nice.

I stayed at the Grand Visconti while working about 20 minutes walk away, so hotel was chosen for that reason. Otherwise in terms of location, there is nothing of interest nearby. There is however a Metro station to get you into the city centre.

Check in was easy. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. I didn't use the fitness centre, but a colleague gave it a favourable review. Bar service was friendly and efficient, but the area itself doesn't entice you to linger. And at 7 Euros for a bottle of beer, it's not cheap.

I thought the buffet breakfast was very good with an excellent selection of food and drinks.

Nearby there are some decent restaurants if little else.

I look forward to staying at the Grand Visconti again in the future.

Good, solid, mid size hotel. Not a central location, but a block away from metro station. Rooms are small, but comfortable. If you get a good price-would be a good choice. Not many dining choices around. The wifi works well. Great breakfast-fills you up till the dinner time.

Dear 3pleC,

Thank you so much for your kind feedback.

Regarding accommodation we remind you that we have different types of rooms and suites. Our Deluxe rooms, for example, overlook the garden which is the best view possible in the hotel and big enough to contain up to three people also. Otherwise you can choose one of our 12 suites built in order to satisfy any guest need.

In terms of location, we simply remind you that the hotel is situated just at about 3 minutes walking distance from the metro line direct to the city centre, that is reachable in about 10 minutes, only 4 stops. The area itself is not exactly city centre but easily accessible even by car (while in the centre you need to have permission, no parking, much traffic). It is a residential area where you have mainly everything in terms of shops, services, restaurants and gardens. The only things the area does not offer is Monuments or Museums except for the area of Porta Romana, one of the historical old roads, which is just 5 minutes walking from the hotel and where you have some Roman ruins & one of the various antic gates of “Mediolanum”.

Looking forward to having you here back soon we send you our

Best Regards.

Stayed here for three nights from Monday 19th to the 22nd May 2014. We were welcomed at reception by Berrnie and Maud who were fantastic and checked us in separately as we had traveled with our parents.Maud took us too our rooms and was very good informing us of where everything was and what times the restaurant opened for dinner and breakfast. She showed us our room and explained everything about the room to us.When your in a foreign country this is great even if, like us, you are very experienced travelers. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are larger than normal. The guys in the bar (sorry we didnt get their names) were also very good at what they do and were always very helpful and attentive. The snacks you get with your drinks makes up for the cost of the drinks but its what we expected so we used the bar each night for a night cap. The hotel is very close to the metro and is four stops from the Duomo. The area does look a bit rough but we felt quite safe walking around in the area. I really cannot fault the hotel, the only issue i would have was that our room faced the road which is about 6 lanes big and can get noisy. Would it stop me staying there absolutely not. If you plan to stay in Milan i dont think you find a better hotel for the money.
Excellent.
This is for the management if they read the reviews, the breakfast was a bit unorganised and we had to ask for tea and coffee or we had to get it ourselves. Also they were busy clearing tables and not re-filling the bread, milk and pastries.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the road if your a light sleeper.

Dear DAWN1M,

We thank you very much for visiting the Grand Visconti Palace as well as for taking the time to give us your feedback which is important to us!
We are very delighted to know that you enjoy your stay with us and it has been a pleasure for all of us being at your disposal during your stay.

As far as it concerns breakfast we are sorry that was below your expectations. we have already forwarded the comment to our F&B Manager who will follow up in order to understand why service was slowed down.

Regarding the room facing the street we inform you that normally it is hard to hear the sound of the city as all of them are well sound proof therefore we are really sorry we will have our maintenance to double check the situation.
Our location is nearby the subway station LODI TIBB, which is the line than in only 4 stops takes you directly to the Duomo (the Milan’s Cathedral). The good thing about not being exactly in the hearth of the city is also the easy access to the highways, to the airports as well as we are not inside the “C Zone”, which requires a daily fee to be paid for who arrives to the hotel by car. Furthermore it is a very nice option the walk to the city centre as you will be experiencing one of the old roman roads called Corso di Porta Romana with its cobblestone pavement and many little shops and cafes.

Looking forward to having you here soon, we send to you our

Best Regards.
